The Minor Family from Four Bears Winery and Sean Minor Wines (5 of 10)
Sean and Nicole Minor founded Four Bears Winery and Sean Minor Wines in 2005. The Sonoma County California business is named for their four children: Nick, Elle, Jack and Charlie. Nicole Minor says about Valentine's Day:"The Minor family celebrates and has celebrated Valentine's Day as a family for 13 years, when our number one child came along. We make it a dual dinner! The table is set for 6 with lots of Valentine treats in pink and red. When you have a family of 6 it looks like a small party! While the children eat, Sean and I sit with them enjoying our glass of Sean Minor Four Bears Sauvignon Blanc while we listen to their Valentines stories from school. We always feast on the family favorite -- slow cooked ribs. This is the one meal we can be certain that everyone will eat. Then the kids leave the table and Sean and I light the candles, pour some Cabernet and enjoy our dinner for two. Probably unconventional, but it works for us. We like to be with the kids on this day -- a tradition that I had growing up and one we keep going. When it really comes down to it, the children are "our valentines" Life is good and we have much to be grateful for." The 2006 Four Bears Sauvignon Blanc has bright notes of citrus and tropical fruit and sells for $14. 03/02/09
