In 1999, Iacocca became the head of EV Global Motors, a company formed to develop and market electric bikes with a top speed of 15 mph and a range of 20 miles between recharging at wall outlets. Iacocca had a long interest in electric vehicles. He predicted that electric bikes would be the next big thing and that he could eventually sell one million bikes a year.
