The cactus was inspired by a trip to Lanzarote, with which the designer surprised the world when he exhibited his giant cacti at the david gill gallery in london in 2003. The lladro version adds seven delicate porcelain birds to each version. It sells for $800 (plus $50 extra for the golden version). 12/11/08
