The Carlyle Group, a private equity group in Washington D.C., has put its 2004 Gulfstream G450 up for sale with Avpro. The Carlyle Group was ranked as the largest private equity firm last year by Private Equity International and has had both Bush presidents working for it at different times. Like many firms it has hit hard times and announced layoffs and a plan to close its Silicon Valley office in December. The jet's price is estimated around $30 million. 12/03/09
