Ed is internationally recognized as one of the industry’s most distinguished hoteliers and is known for his hands-on management approach, with more than 20 years of experience. He is the Managing Director for One&Only Palmilla and responsible for the overall operation of the resort. His regional operational responsibilities also include all of Latin America and the Caribbean, including overall responsibility for the One&Only Ocean Club in the Bahamas.

Ed joined Kerzner International in May 2003, as Regional VP Mexico and Managing Director of One&Only Palmilla and worked diligently with the pre-opening team to position One&Only Palmilla as one of the finest resorts in the world. Under Ed’s direction, One&Only Palmilla received numerous accolades and awards from top publications worldwide, including Conde Nast Traveler, Robb Report and Travel+Leisure. One&Only Palmilla was selected as the number one resort in all of Latin America in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2004 annual Reader’s Choice Awards, in less than nine months after the resort debuted and again in 2005. Most recently, the resort was voted #1 Mexican Resort by Conde Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards in 2008 and 2007 and #1 Mexican Hotel in Travel + Leisure’s Top 10 Best Hotels: Mexico and the Caribbean. In addition, One&Only Palmilla was recognized by Travel+Leisure’s “World’s Best Spa Awards” and in the “2007 Reader’s Survey: World’s Best Golf Resorts,” and has consistently ranked as a premier travel destination in the luxury resort world.

Ed has also been internationally recognized for his leadership. He was named, “One of the finest Hoteliers Worldwide 2003” and “Best Managing Director At Top New Resort” (in March 2004) by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences in Berlin. In August 2006, he was named “Best Hotelier in Mexico” by Alta Hoteleria, an industry publication that compiles votes from peers and industry leaders in Mexico.

Prior to Ed’s appointment at One&Only Palmilla, he opened and successfully oversaw the management of Las Ventanas del Paraíso for almost seven years, accumulating an unparalleled level of industry accolades and awards during his tenure and launched Los Cabos as a luxury resort destination to the world.
