An avid foodie, she is the author of If You Can Stand the Heat: Tales From Chefs and Restaurateurs (Penguin, 1999).
Over the course of a 15 year career, Dawn has had the privilege of publishing Edward P. Jones, whose novel The Known World was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction; the number one New York Times bestseller, Chris Gardner, author of The Pursuit of Happyness (which was also the name of the Will Smith movie); and most recently Steve Harvey, author of the International Bestseller Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. Before joining HarperCollins, she spent five years at Vintage Books, a division of Random House, where she worked with Vogue's food critic Jeffrey Steingarten.
