Etsy Find: Ilemi 2 Way Leather Bag

The Ilemi 2-Way Leather Bag has a handle that is phenomenal looking. I don't usually get sucked in by a bag handle, but it is truly unique. It posses an intricately knotted thick leather handle that beautifully offsets an otherwise understated handbag. However, that's not to say that without the handle this bag would be overlooked, because even with a simply designed handle, this bag is still gorgeous.

Handmade from calf leather, the shoulder bag has a roomy interior (measurements: 16" W x 16.5" H) fitting everything you need for the day and then some. The 2-Way Leather Bag ($750) features a detachable shoulder strap while the body has stitch detailing resulting in a somewhat pleated effect. This bag is a unique yet timeless investment piece that could easily be worn throughout the year (minus the blaring hot heat wave days and tear-producing frigid snowstorm days).

Charlotte Pom Pom Suede Tote, Handbag of the Day

Suede is perfect for that transition period between summer and fall when you want to feel cozy but still want to keep things light. Sara Berman does suede up nicely in this simple tote that manages to have plenty of personality with just a few choice accents. The Charlotte Pom Pom Suede Tote has a brown suede body with studded black leather trim (including panels running down either side), burnished gold hardware, and of course the double leather pom poms that can be detached and used as a keyfob. Wearable as either a standard shoulder bag via the double top handles or cross-body thanks to the detachable long strap it's a versatile and casual piece great for weekends. This bag feels like royalty to me. Called simply the Leather and Suede Bag by Versace it features a solid square shape with a rich purple inset and textured black leather surrounding, all accented with little silvertone hoops that look like scalloping. There are also small designer plaques where the double top handles attach, a detachable shoulder strap with chain accents, tabs at sides, a magnetic snap closure, and a two-tone interior made of beige satin with purple leather pouch pockets (and one zippered one). A whole new kind of pulled-together glamor. $2,950

There's always room for more boho chic-ness in a girl's wardrobe and this Anka 1 Suede Shoulder Bag by Antik Batik has it in boat loads. Dark gray suede in a slouchy cut is embellished with a multi-layered brass chain overlay in a pretty floral-like pattern with long chain tassels swinging from the bottom. It has a single suede shoulder strap attached with large silvertone hoops, a zip-top closure, and a large zippered pocket on the back. Inside there's another zip pocket and a lining of designer-stamped dark purple twill. $470

Fendi Python Skin Clutch, Handbag of the Day

The Fendi Python Skin Clutch ($2720) is ultra sleek and sophisticated. It has a clean and minimal design with complimentary understated accents. And with such a 'below the radar' look, it is classic enough to be paired with any outfit throughout the year. The frame clutch is made with python leather offering a gorgeous texture and embodies a deep rich color that at times it's hard for me to decipher if it's black or navy blue – or perhaps I'm color blind as my husband tells me all the time. One of my favorite parts of this clutch is the tiny logo inscription on the ash wood and plexi handle. It is a discrete touch to an elegant bag.

Henry cuir Naphotaline Clutch, Handbag of the Day

It's not too often that I come across a clutch that would complement rather than fight a casual outfit. The Henry cuir Naphotaline Clutch ($650) is a petite grained leather fold-over clutch that maintains a stylish and sophisticated look even with the most casual of outfits - think skinny jeans, v-neck long fitted t shirt, flats and a long statement necklace. The Naphotaline is handcrafted and features colorful cross-stitching at the edges and along the center with a subtle accent of an African bead as its closure. Seen here is a bordeaux color, the Naphotaline is also available in a lighter shade, not surprisingly called natural.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Lamb Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day

Marc Jacobs is a phenomenal designer. He pushes the boundaries and sets trends. Sometimes the world is ready for his creations and other times he is waiting for us to catch up with him. I think the latter may be true in the case of his Lamb Shoulder Bag ($495). My initially reaction was "if a gremlin had a fashionable girlfriend, this bag would be it", but what a harsh judgment to make for a designer that I truly respect and admire. So I reserve my criticism and let the readers decide.

It's not as though we haven't seen fur bags before. On the runway, they are sartorial eye candy for the fur enthusiasts while opponents would vigorously disagree (and with good reason). But in the real world day to day living, how realistic can it be to wear a fur bag? However, there are some great qualities to this smoky colored furry shoulder bag. The color scheme is beautiful and gives off a relaxed and soothing feel while the colorful strap adds a little punch of color. It has a wide stripped adjustable canvas shoulder strap making for a sturdy and comfortable carry and with a roomy interior, you can hold many items without creating a bulky effect. And it's all accented with a gold designer stamped plaque.

The lingerie bags by Artillerie are so pretty that you might not want to use them for their intended purpose, to tote your around your unmentionables as you travel. The Artillerie Original is designed for easy compartmentalization with two zippered front pockets and a large back pocket that runs the width of the back. Nina Ricci Small Hobo, Handbag of the Day

Although a pale pink handbag seems fitting for the Summer, this cute little hobo by Nina Ricci makes me want to find a way to incorporate with my Fall wardrobe. The color is light and soft and so of course is the leather.

The Ricci Hobo ($1475) is sparingly adorned with just a knotted bow handle and monochromatic logo on the front zippered pocket, making it a bag that will last for years to come. Even with its small size, the hobo is perfect for your essentials. Dimensions: 8.5" X 16" X 5".

Borbonese & Roy Lichtenstein Handbag Collaboration

The Foundation of Pop Artist Roy Lichtenstein, has collaborated with Italian fashion house Borbonese to release a line of limited edition handbags showcasing the late artist's colorful work. Featured to the right is their Two Apples Tote. Traditonally, Borbonese has strayed away from such a colorful palette and has kept their luxurious line of handbags within more traditional colorways, but they has set aside their ususal classic aesthetic to bring you Lichtenstein in it's wild and vibrantly colorful form.

Lichtenstein's art and Borbonese's craftsmanship are beautifully coupled to make for an attention grabbing 12 piece collection of totes and clutches. Each one holds such a unique look. These bags would be ideal for the Summer given their fun loving nature and liveliness, but perhaps the Fall could also use a little burst of vibrancy too.

Lanvin Ouloulou Satin Pouchette, Handbag of the Day

The Lanvin Ouloulou Satin Pouchette makes us say "Ooh la la!"

There's nothing like peach satin to give an outfit vintage appeal. This pretty pouchette has a hammered satin flap front, a delicate chain-link strap and a grosgrain pompom detail. The button covers a magnetic closure and adds shape to this lovely, peaches-and-cream purse.

Though it's a little pinker in person, this Italian-made bag exudes charm and innocence. The pouchette itself is 6" x 9.5" x 2" and lined in satin, ensuring only the very best treatment for the goodies you put inside it. While this would be difficult to pull off with a contrasting color, we'd love to see this with a little black dress, a little white dress or maybe, maybe a black-and-white pattern.

One extra thing to love about this purse: shiny satin transitions perfectly into the holiday season, and you'll definitely be able to carry this from now until the company holiday party.

Hemingway's Great-Granddaughter Stars in Louis Vuitton Safari Campaign

Earlier this year we told you about model Dree Hemingway, 22, daughter of Mariel Hemingway and great-granddaughter of famous author Ernest Hemingway, who's making a name for herself among the fashion crowd. Now the willowy blonde is starring in a luxe new safari-themed ad campaign for Louis Vuitton (above). Reminiscent of Hemingway's African tales such as The Snows of Kilimanjaro, the casting choice is a fitting one as the author is often credited with introducing the Swahili word "safari" into common parlance.

The new Vuitton campaign, highlighting the famed French luxury goods house's handmade travel items, was shot on location in Africa. Photographed by Carter Smith, the ads feature Dree and a handsome young fellow enjoying the dramatic scenery of the African veldt. Items on display include bags, trunks, journals, watches, blankets, sunglasses, jewelry, clothing and even a few items of vintage Vuitton luggage. The campaign comes on the heels of Dree's selection as the face of Italian fashion house Gianfranco Ferré earlier this year, following appearances for Abercrombie & Fitch and DKNY.

Bottega Veneta Snakeskin Three-Flap Clutch, Handbag of the Day

What a pretty, glowing finish this Snakeskin Three-Flap Clutch Bottega Veneta bag has, thanks to the exotic elaphne watersnake skin that has a slight iridescent finish. The three flaps aren't real (they all open together as one) but there are three separate gusseted compartments inside. Lined in suede it has one interior zip pocket and comes with a detachable leather strap for clutch or shoulder bag use. It's a pretty and fairly classic style but you better love it as it's priced higher than many other options at $3,500.
