Frette Launches New Baby Line

Luxury linens purveyors, Frette, have just added new items for spring to their Baby line, perfect for baby shower gifts and other celebrations of posh tots. New products and designs feature the giraffe motif which shows up on embroidered bed sets, quilts, covers and towels and on jacquard blankets from the Warm range. If giraffes don't suit your baby decor there are also luxurious pillows and bed sets with lace trims or triple bourdon embroideries in pink, blue, ivory and beige. The bed sets are available in three sizes: cradle, cot and single bed. A choice of Frette Kid's pyjamas, bathrobes and bibs all embroidered with giraffe or Frette logos are also available. Prices range from $45 for a bib set to $195 for cashmere sweater, $95 for the terry robe and 350 for the triple bourbon crib set with duvet.

Original Little House On The Prairie Art Up For Auction

Many of us grew up with the much beloved Little House on the Prairie book by Laura Ingalls WIlder. The cover art used starting in the 1950s and continuing up to present day, a soft-pencil drawing of the Ingalls family in a covered wagon by illustrator Garth Williams will be part of Heritage Auctions' February 11 Signature(R) Illustration Art Auction in Beverly Hills. This piece is expected to bring in over $8,000 and joins 99 other Little House drawings, spread across 30 lots, in the auction.

Williams' scenes of the close-knit frontier family replaced the extremely stylized versions by Helen Sewell that had been used since the 1930s. "So many of us saw America's heartland through the eyes of Garth Williams, through these exact drawings," said Barry Sandoval, Director of Operations of Comics & Comic Art at Heritage, "and the cover is the most famous of them all. With his wonderful soft-pencil art, Williams conveyed the majesty of the prairie, but also the warmth of a family that had to stick together through all of its hardships." Sandoval goes on to say that Williams went on a six-month trip to research his drawings, meeting with Wilder in Mansfield, Missouri and also visiting other states where the Wilder family lived.

A Look At The Home Court by LeBron James Furniture Collection

Back in February we mentioned the furniture line that LeBron James was creating with furniture company American Signature (back before James made his big move from Cleveland to Miami). The furniture for children debuts this week showing up in stores on Black Friday. It was created by James and his girlfriend Savannah Brinson, the mother of his two children. The HomeCourt by LeBron James line is comprised of basketball-themed bedroom pieces including a bed with a basketball-styled frame and a bunk bed set-up with a desktop and study area beneath the bed, and arena style steps with storage drawers. Prices range from $149 to $1,149. The pieces can be seen in American Signature stores which are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday.

Knitwits Sesame Street Hats & Mittens for Kids

Little kids look so adorable all bundled up in winter clothing - the hats, mittens, scarves and their puffy winter snowsuits. I'm sure if you asked them, they're probably not that comfortable - but they do look super adorable. Seeing these little kids reminds me of that Cosby Show episode when little Rudy had to use the bathroom and her dad tried to get her out of her snowsuit. That moment was hilarious. And one that every parent can relate to.

Princes & Crows Wallpaper's Little Prince Collection

Parisian artist Alix Soubiran created the Princes & Crows line of wallpaper in January 2008. Soubiran is an artist and storyteller, who credits her grandfather, a celebrated French author and recipient of the Theophraste Renaudot literary prize in 1943 for her passion for storytelling and fascination with stunning wall decor. Her book-filled grandfather's house in the 16th arrondissement in Paris inspired her fanciful designs. She has created a line of paper accessories, 19th century style butterflies meant to be positioned and stuck to the walls according to your fancy, as well as wallpapers that are manufactured and produced in the Los Angeles area.

Her latest designs use the beloved tale of "The Little Prince" as inspiration. Taking fanciful look at the fable, the line features deep sea creatures, imaginary birds and unicorns in space. The paper is designed for children's rooms but is more whimsical and classical than cute. Sea Ballet, shown above, was inspired by prehistoric-looking sea creatures and has a little of the feel of a botanical illustration.

The 'Disney Tattoo Guy' Puts His Disney Collection Up For Auction

It's not surprising that a man who has over 2,200 authorized tattoos of Disney cartoon characters and film stars is a bit of a collector. George Reiger, known to many as 'the Disney tattoo guy,' is putting his collection up for sale through the William H. Bunch auction house. The auction is scheduled for November 15 and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.com.

Reiger is a former postal worker and accomplished magician who has spent the last 40 years amassing Disney limited-edition theme park and convention collectibles. His collection of as many as 8,000 pieces includes theme park props, limited-edition pins, bronzes, ceramics, animation cels, stuffed animals and just about anything Disney. Even his house is Disney-fied with a Mickey Mouse-themed decor and custom-designed doors, ceilings, knobs and fixtures that will also be up for sale. The auction will be broken into 400-500 cataloged lots and end with box lots available only to in-gallery bidders.

The collection features items that are both small and large. Two of the larger items are a 15-foot-long, custom-built Nautilus submarine and an eight-foot-tall articulated Jack Skellington figure from the movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas." The piece shown at right is a Paddy Gordon Cinderella's Castle sculpture, Disneyland. It's a limited edition and is number eight of 50 and originally cost $1,200 but is estimated at $600-$900.

Jellio's original limited edition Candelier, the giant chandelier made up of 5000 tiny acrylic gummi bear 'candies,' was so popular its been reincarnated in a new, miniature form. Created by hand-stringing approx 3000 high-gloss acrylic mulit-colored bears that hang in a perfect sphere, the Mini Candelier has a 17" diameter and even at half the size of the original is still a significant lighting fixture. And although each Candelier is handmade so no two are exactly alike Jellio has yet to offer color customization options -- I'd personally like to see one in all yellow or all red. $1,800

The Debut of Stella McCartney Kids

Stella McCartney is no stranger to designing children's clothing. Her collaboration with Gap produced child-friendly yet fashionably designed clothing that appealed to both children and their parents. It was an opportunity for children to showcase their own personal style (with a little assistance from mom and dad of course) without having to be a walking billboard for mass marketed cartoons. Needless to say - it was an instant success.

Ms McCartney has taken the plunge to produce her own children's line - fittingly named Stella McCartney Kids. I'm a sucker for a good fairytale motif in a baby's room (where else in the house can you go so theme-crazy?) but find most options way too overdone and over-ruffled for my taste. This Cinderella Carriage Crib is another story, however, as it manages to look equally at home directly in a fairytale or in a tastefully decorated room fit for a little princess. Handcrafted by wrought iron furniture maker Corsican it features the iconic pumpkin shape embellished with big carriage wheels, trailing vines, rosettes decorating every joint, and a garland of leaves at the crown complete with little birdies. Marilyn Monroe Remembered in Campy Coloring Book, House

It may be goodbye to Norma Jean, but the candle in the wind burns on -- and on and on -- for Marilyn Monroe. If it's not enough that the house she died in is being marketed with that as one of its selling features, now there's also a "Color Me Marilyn" coloring book that will undoubtedly appeal to the coffee tables of Monroe's ever-lasting following.

The coloring book, which had its own display at the California Gift Show, is illustrated by Hollywood's Emanuel Emanuele. Emanuele is a lifelong Marilyn fan who created many Marilyn wall murals featured in magazines around the country. The book has 64 black-and-white line drawings of Marilyn that fans can color and in doing so, "bring her to life." Well, why not? The drawings and captions capture the most memorable moments of Hollywood's all-time favorite Golden Girl -- including Marilyn at film premieres, posing with friends and beaus, singing "Happy Birthday" to President Kennedy and countless of her famous film scenes. Emanuele's specialty is drawing Hollywood icons of the Golden Age of Hollywood and he may have hit pay dirt with this beauty.

The book is available online and in bookstores and retails for $12.95.

The house, well that will cost you more. The Brentwood home where Monroe died of a drug overdose came on the market for $3,595,000. She purchased the home the four-bedroom house about six months before her death on Aug. 4, 1962. She was 36 and this was the only home she ever owned, although many homes in Los Angeles stake a "Marilyn Monroe slept here" claim. The 1929 hacienda-style home, unremarkable in many ways, does have kidney-shaped pool and tiles embedded in the front stoop inscribed with the Latin phrase "Cursum Perficio" which means "I have completed my journey." Not so long as you have fans, dear Marilyn, not so long as you have fans.

This is, of course, not Barbie's first foray into the luxury market. She has her own 2,350-square-foot Barbie Suite at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas loaded with pink and more pink, plus Barbie pictures, a two-way fireplace and a Jacuzzi we presume for times when Ken leaves the gaming tables. Two Young Ladies, One Wine - The Launch of BLBL

BLBL is the name of the latest wine from the house of Viticcio in Tuscany, and it is named for its two young women winemakers, Italian Beatrice Landini, age 26, and American Blake Leonard, age 24 (above, left to right). Naturally, a pairing like this doesn't come out of nowhere.

These fresh-faced ladies are both the eldest daughters in the third generation of their family businesses. Ms. Leonard hails from the Stew Leonard's family (known as "The Disneyland of Dairy Stores" and famous for their funny commercials), and Ms. Landini's family are the proprietors of Tuscany's Viticcio Estate. The pair met for the first time at age 14 when the Leonard family toured the Landini family's Fattoria Viticcio vineyard in Greve. Both fathers and daughters bonded, and kept in touch.
