This summer the designers haven't let us down and have come up with all kinds fashion fun done up in every shade from pale champagne to neon to deep fuschia. Of course we don't recommend wearing them all at once (lest you look like a wayward Barbie) but we've compiled a pretty mix of pink dresses, shoes, handbags, and jewelry in the gallery below to keep your girly side rolling this summer in whatever way you see fit. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/pretty-in-pink-summer-essentials/">Pretty in Pink Summer Essentials</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/pretty-in-pink-summer-essentials/2114514/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/picture-106099_thumbnail.png" alt="Hula Ida Handheld Tote" title="Hula Ida Handheld Tote" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/pretty-in-pink-summer-essentials/2114512/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/picture-06094_thumbnail.png" alt="Crystal Tedior Necklace" title="Crystal Tedior Necklace" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/pretty-in-pink-summer-essentials/2114511/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/picture-06091_thumbnail.png" alt="Slingback Sandal" title="Slingback Sandal" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/pretty-in-pink-summer-essentials/2114510/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/42095_in_dl_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Embroidered Cotton Dress" title="Embroidered Cotton Dress" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/pretty-in-pink-summer-essentials/2114509/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/picture-06097_thumbnail.png" alt="Grosgrain Platform Sandals" title="Grosgrain Platform Sandals" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/30/pretty-in-pink-this-summer-has-it-all/">Pretty in Pink: This Summer Has it all </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Tue, 30 Jun 2009 09:01:00 EST. And why should we care about about his clothes? Because<a href="http://www.whatisjameswearing.com/who-is-james/"> James Andrew</a>, a New York-based <a href="http://www.jamesandrewinteriordesign.com/">interior designer</a>, is hip, effortlessly cool (or so it appears), sports python loafers <em>sans</em> socks, can carry off a mint green suit, and wears Gucci like there's no tomorrow. For proof, and to see what other designers he has in his closet, check out Andrew's aptly named blog, <a href="http://www.whatisjameswearing.com/">What Is James Wearing?</a>.<br /><br />It's a vicarious read, and even better are the photos. Andrew models his outfit at whatever fabulous locale he's frequenting (he must rely on the kindness of strangers to take his photo) and then describes what's going on in the photo, followed by a breakdown of his outfit. It seems Andrew does quite well as a designer, because unless he has a personal shopper to do the legwork, he has a whole lot of time, and no doubt funds, to spend on his attire.<br /><br />Andrew has two handsome whippets, <a href="http://www.whatisjameswearing.com/10/my-neighborhood/">Rupert and Nigel</a>, whom he loves and shows off now and then on the site. I bet come winter, when it's time for their coats, they are the best-dressed dogs in NYC.<br /><br />[Thanks, <a href="http://www.savingforsesame.com">Shira</a>.]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/28/what-is-james-wearing/">What Is James Wearing?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Sun, 28 Jun 2009 19:05:00 EST. I always appreciated the mix of metals, tasteful use of precious stones, and simple elegance never realizing his line expanded past women's jewelry into watches, fragrance, and now, sunglasses. Yurman's Eyewear Collection continues his <a href="http://www.davidyurman.com/eyewear/eyewear.aspx?folderId=/eyewear&amp;page=1">timeless expressions into designs for both men and women</a> adding an extra oomph to regular shades using 18K gold, sterling silver, tortoise, citrine and black onyx accents. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.googooeyes.com/press/12012008/">Debuted in 2008</a>, David Yurman's Eyewear Collection incorporates classic cable, buckles and stones into the women's line while the men's sunglasses feature Zeiss lenses in custom colors and coatings. The prices range from $325 to $695 with high-end signature options available in solid gold with pav&egrave; diamond accents for quite a bit more. <br />Porsche Design has long since evolved from an automotive design studio into a company offering a wide range of highly desirable products, sold worldwide through their own dedicated stores, along with special design work for other companies as well. But all the while they haven't forgotten their roots. As if to demonstrate just that, the studio has launched a new collection to compliment the new Panamera four-door grand touring car from their automotive sister-company. The collection includes all manner of clothing and accessories for men, women and children, as well as a line of Swiss-made timepieces and a set of fitted luggage. The latter is made of lightweight aluminum and polycarbonate, designed to fit in the trunk space of the new Panamera and available in the same exterior colors to provide a fresh take on the traditional soft-sided fitted luggage offered by other luxury automakers. <br /><br />
<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/25/porsche-design-commemorates-launch-of-new-panamera-with-special/">Porsche Design Commemorates Launch of new Panamera with Special Collection</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Thu, 25 Jun 2009 10:01:00 EST. While this time of year usually calls for seersucker, the weather just isn't co-operating so waterproofs are <em>de rigeur</em>. The New Utility jacket (above), part of the company's <a href="http://www.barbour.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=products.featurelist&amp;FeatureId=547">Contemporary line</a>, features slimmer proportions, cargo-style pockets and a smaller collar. Lined in classic Barbour Tartan, the jacket is made of the company's classic mediumweight 6 oz. Barbour Sylkoil waxed fabric. Barbour, which was founded in 1894 and holds <a href="http://www.luxist.com/tag/Royal+warrant/">Royal Warrants</a> from <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_II_of_the_United_Kingdom" title="Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom">Queen Elizabeth II</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Philip,_Duke_of_Edinburgh" title="Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh">The Duke of Edinburgh</a>, and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles,_Prince_of_Wales" title="Charles, Prince of Wales">The Prince of Wales</a>, is further expanding on tradition with artfully updated designs like this one.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/23/barbour-waxed-cotton-new-utility-jacket/">Barbour Waxed Cotton New Utility Jacket</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Tue, 23 Jun 2009 14:02:00 EST. When I first started playing my parents dressed me in poofy bermuda shorts that started above your navel accented with unflattering front pleats. Now, women golfers rejoice in savvy color schemes, flattering shorts and skirts and sporty accessories. One of the indispensable items in any golfer's bag is a good glove. If you ladies are looking to <a href="http://www.qglove.com/">complete your ensemble with a sassy grip check out Qglove's options</a>. From lucky numbers and doggies to butterflies and dragonflies the range of colors and patterns will have you wanting more than just one. To celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary, Lilly has created the <a href="http://www.lillypulitzer.com/A-Colorful-Cause-Collection/icat/jubilee">"A Colorful Cause" Spring/Summer 20009 collection</a>, a special line designed with nine celebrity women--Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angie Harmon, Marcia Cross, Catherine Bell, Debra Messing, Brooke Shields, Bridget Moynahan and Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon. The line of swimsuits, shifts, pants, skirts and caftans benefits the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation with 15 percent of the price going to the foundation. Epidermolysis Bullosa is a rare and painful skin disease that results in blisters and wounds on the body. The Grace shift shown at right was designed by Debra Messing and sells for $428.<br /><br />[via <a href="http://makeluxurycount.org/2009/06/11/lilly-pulitzer-lends-her-colorful-prints-for-a-colorful-cause/">Make Luxury Count</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/21/lilly-pulitzers-a-colorful-cause-collection/">Lilly Pulitzer's A Colorful Cause Collection</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Sun, 21 Jun 2009 08:02:00 EST. But Krakoff, who has has had a long and influential career in fashion, may be stepping into the spotlight. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.fashionweekdaily.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=6634642">Fashion Week Daily says that Coach</a> will be developing a new brand around Krakoff. The names "Reed," "Reed Krakoff," and "RK" have been registered with the United States Patent and Trademark office along with a couple of custom logos. The trademark could be used for ready-to-wear and leather goods or for personal care products as well as "hotel and restaurant services." <br /><br />What does the always ambitious Krakoff have up his sleeve? Coach has only said that they always have new projects in development. Before joining Coach in 1996, Krakoff worked for Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger so he has learned about building a personal brand from the best in the business.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/18/will-coachs-creative-director-be-his-own-brand/">Will Coach's Creative Director Be His Own Brand?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Thu, 18 Jun 2009 09:01:00 EST. (I know luxe is spelled with an "e," but this is how they spell it.) The site is just getting going, and for its first line is featuring <a href="http://www.toggerycollection.com/">Toggery</a> by Kate D'Arcy, a simple, casual line with reasonable prices that the site calls "a fun, contemporary line that appeals to every body shape and is offered in all organic and sustainable luxurious fabrics." I saw only one item that cost <a href="https://www.luxlifeapparel.com/products/index.php?c=Accessories&amp;sc=Jackets&amp;pid=5153&amp;style_name=HARLOW&amp;lsd=This%20single%20button%20french%20terry%20knit%20jacket%20lends%20a%20stylish%20touch%20to%20any%20ensemble.%20%20It%20features%20shirring%20at%20the%20sleeves%20and%20pleating%20at%20center%20back.">more than $100</a>. I randomly clicked on about 10 items, and all were made with bamboo or cotton, and some had Spandex. If you're looking for some light, breezy summer basics that are eco-friendly, this could be a place to start. See the gallery for a few items that caught my eye (too bad they don't come in petite sizes).<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/organic-clothing-with-a-hint-of-luxury/">Organic Clothing With a Hint of Luxury</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/organic-clothing-with-a-hint-of-luxury/2081534/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/hailey-49_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Hailey cardigan, $49" title="Hailey cardigan, $49" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/organic-clothing-with-a-hint-of-luxury/2081539/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/margherita-63_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Margherita shorts, $63" title="Margherita shorts, $63" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/organic-clothing-with-a-hint-of-luxury/2081537/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/sarah-70_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Sarah cardigan, $70" title="Sarah cardigan, $70" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/organic-clothing-with-a-hint-of-luxury/2081538/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/reese-55_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Reese dress, $55" title="Reese dress, $55" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/organic-clothing-with-a-hint-of-luxury/2081536/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/amanda-59_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Amanda tank, $59" title="Amanda tank, $59" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/14/organic-clothing-with-a-hint-of-luxury/">Organic Clothing With a Hint of Luxury</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Sun, 14 Jun 2009 16:01:00 EST. Their materials are the best, their sizes are custom by shape, height, and bra-size, and now you can get a three-in-one package of them -- It's luxury at a sensible discount. <br /><br />"I rely on our classic shirts every day to get me through the week, and with the <a href="https://www.rebeccaanddrew.com/store/shop/item.asp?itemid=582">TrioPack</a>, we wanted to create a simple, convenient, and cost-effective way to help professional women dress with ease so that they concentrate on their business at hand," says Rebecca &amp; Drew co-founder, Rebecca Matchett.<br /><br />The pack is $399, and you can pick light blue, black, white, pink, or a mix of colors. Normally the shirts are $150 - $195 apiece, so the savings are truly significant. We believe that Rebecca &amp; Drew is raising the standards for work clothing for women, and hope that this release of a three-in-one will get more of their shirts out there, so we don't ever have to accept less.<br /><br />Yes, you can have them monogrammed.<br /><br />Check out our previous article on this amazing company, "<a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/02/11/rebecca-and-drew-makes-custom-shirts-for-women/">Rebecca &amp; Drew Makes Custom Shirts for Women</a>," and visit <a href="http://www.rebeccaanddrew.com/">RebeccaandDrew.com</a> to shop!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/12/new-from-rebecca-and-drew-triopacks/">New from Rebecca &amp; Drew - TrioPacks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Fri, 12 Jun 2009 15:01:00 EST. The Bunyanesque two-time major champion is making his return to the PGA Tour, after a six-month suspension for bad behavior, sporting a wardrobe right out of <em>Caddyshack</em>. Daly is being outfitted by <a href="http://loudmouthgolf.com/">Loudmouth Golf</a>, a California-based producer of kaleidoscopic golf wear.<br /> <br /> The company was started in 2000 by Scott Woodworth, an accomplished graphic designer and Rhode Island School of Design grad who says the idea came to him when he couldn't find any colorful clothes to wear for golf. He'd grown up watching greats like Jack Nicklaus and Johnny Miller win tournaments in the '70s in garishly colored polyester pants and decided to create a retro clothing line harkening back to that era. <br /> <br /> Loudmouth's pants ($89.99) come in a variety of styles: paisley, argyle, dots, stripes, houndstooth and plaid. The company has <a href="http://www.prweb.com/releases/2009/06/prweb2487254.htm">issued a press release </a>saying that they will launch a new editorial destination later this year. The website sold brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Fendi and others. While it's sad to see eLuxury go, if you want to shop on the site, now is the time. The discounts are deep, the Dolce &amp; Gabbana halter dress shown at right <a href="http://eluxury.com/estore/browse/product_detail.jsp?id=11982898">was $3,670 but is now $734</a>. Over <a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/05/25/will-versaces-ceo-get-the-boot/">Memorial Day weekend it was believed </a>that Di Risio would be fired after months of pitched battle with Donatella Versace but those reports were summarily denied. Turns out there was quite a bit of truth to it. The company now reports that Di Risio's resignation was a mutual decision. Di Risio, who has also worked for LVMH and probably won't be eager to sign on for a family-run business again any time soon, will stay on for a while as the company searches for a new CEO. One name that keeps floating to the top is former Pringle of Scotland's chief executive, Kim Winser. Winser <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/fashion/style/3300302/Out-of-the-rough.html">once described </a>herself as a "tough cookie with chocolate bits in it" and she's going to need that toughness to hold her own in the Versace empire.<br /><br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/05/di-risio-out-at-versace/">Di Risio Out At Versace</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Fri, 05 Jun 2009 18:01:00 EST. Roy has dubbed her look "scuba pop," a catchy phrase that may owe something to Wes Anderson's film "<font size="-1" face="arial,sans-serif">The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou,"<strong> </strong></font>but that surely doesn't fully capture the collection's elegance -- unless, of course, the "pop" is of a champagne bottle. <br /><br />At a preview in the heart of Manhattan's garment district, Roy showed a number of approaches to translating the scuba -- and beach combing and nightlife -- experience into clothes: first, there's the sheen of the collection, using jersey, lambskin, silk, and sequins; then there are the lines and shapes: the backs of tops and dresses follow the lines of a sturdy swimsuit, while mini-skirts have a hemline that rises in the center like a wave; there's scuba spirit in the detailing too: piping and zippers. But the most glamorous embellishment, crystallized button-like embroidery, evokes the beautiful sea urchin.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/rachel-roy-resort-2010/">Rachel Roy Resort 2010</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/rachel-roy-resort-2010/2056955/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/rachel_roy_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/rachel-roy-resort-2010/2056962/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/rachel_roy_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/rachel-roy-resort-2010/2056959/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/rachel_roy_24_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/rachel-roy-resort-2010/2056953/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/rachel_roy_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/photos/rachel-roy-resort-2010/2056954/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.luxist.com/media/2009/06/rachel_roy_03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/04/rachel-roys-scuba-pop-resort-collection/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rachel Roy's 'Scuba Pop' Resort Collection</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/04/rachel-roys-scuba-pop-resort-collection/">Rachel Roy's 'Scuba Pop' Resort Collection</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Thu, 04 Jun 2009 16:01:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/2c7adad4-4f9d-11de-a692-00144feabdc0,dwp_uuid=e8477cc4-c820-11db-b0dc-000b5df10621.html?nclick_check=1">Financial Times has an interesting piece</a> on a report by McKinsey, the consultants that seems to show that the Japanese infatuation with expensive goods is waning. Brian Salsberg, the author of a McKinsey report on the Japanese luxury goods market says that the change isn't just a recession blip but instead represents "a long-term shift in the market." <br /><br />But why take the Financial Times article's word for it when I can ask the team at <a href="http://jp.luxist.com/">Luxist Japan</a>? Chihiro Ishizaka tells me that there is less of an interest in luxury but that many Japanese are still brand-lovers. There may also be a bit of brand fatigue. The Japanese are bored with the obvious logos like the LV monogram pattern and Prada's famous triangle. Ishizaka says that the ubiquitous Louis Vuitton is not as popular because when high school students are carrying around Vuitton bags it loses its impact for adults. Instead brands like Bottega Veneta and other more modest brands are appealing because they offer quality and prestige without an obvious logo. <br /><br />Like American consumers the Japanese are becoming adept at high-low dressing, combining brands like UNIQLO, Zara, and Mango with one expensive item and delighting in inexpensive vintage clothing. Brands still have their allure for the Japanese and provide a level of confidence about fashion choices but Japanese consumers are becoming more interested in creating their own mix and match outfits without relying on copying what they see in store windows. Yasushi Okue also of Luxist Japan agrees saying that it "is not just the economy, it's the growing diversity in lifestyle and taste, especially among younger women." This mirrors what the Financial Times article reported indicating a sort of training-wheels approach to luxury in which first shoppers take in what they are sold but later are able to be more discriminating about fashion choices and long for increased personalization. It seems to me that luxury isn't fading away as much as the Japanese are looking for more value from their brands than just a recognizable logo and a flashy storefront.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/04/is-luxury-losing-its-luster-in-japan/">Is Luxury Losing Its Luster In Japan?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Thu, 04 Jun 2009 11:01:00 EST. We've seen <a href="http://www.luxist.com/tag/SalvatoreFerragamo/">Salvatore Ferragamo</a>'s <a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/01/16/the-250-000-ferragamo-crocodile-trench-coat/">$250,000 crocodile</a> trench coat and <a href="http://www.luxist.com/tag/hermes/">Herm&egrave;s</a>' $150,000 <a href="http://www.luxist.com/2008/08/29/the-150-000-hermes-crocodile-peacoat/">crocodile pea coat</a>; now here's an <a href="http://www.luxist.com/tag/alligator/">alligator</a> officer's jacket from Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2009/10 collection recently shown in Paris. <a href="http://www.luxist.com/tag/LouisVuitton/">Louis Vuitton</a> mens design director Paul Helbers described the collection as inspired by "the traveling wardrobe of an African king." The jacket has not been priced yet is expected to sell for somewhere in the $50,000 - $75,000 range, and will probably only be available by special order.<br /><br />[via <a href="http://www.justluxe.com/fine-living/fashion/article-244366.php">JustLuxe</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/03/louis-vuitton-alligator-officers-jacket/">Louis Vuitton Alligator Officer's Jacket</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Wed, 03 Jun 2009 10:01:00 EST. The old Webster hotel has been revamped as a 20,000-square-foot temple of chic that includes men's and women's fashion, jewelry, art, a lounge and the first U.S. location of the Parisian restaurant Caviar Kaspia. <a href="http://www.thewebstermiami.com/">The Webster</a> features brands like Balenciaga, Dolce &amp; Gabbana, Azzedine Alaia, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Neil Barrett, Martin Margiela and Stella McCartney.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.miamiherald.com/297/story/1065389.html">The Miami Herald interviews</a> Frederic Dechnik and Laure Heriard Dubreuil on their store and the philosophy of slow shopping. The store is designed for dawdlers who will stay a while, enjoy the space and spend a lot of money. The store has a European style designed to appeal to an international clientele. It opened yesterday, not an auspicious time for a palace of shopping but we'll wish them well just the same.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.luxist.com"><img src="http://www.luxist.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Luxist" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2009/06/02/caviar-and-couture-at-a-new-south-beach-boutique/">Caviar and Couture At A New South Beach Boutique</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.luxist.com">Luxist</a> on Tue, 02 Jun 2009 01:02:00 EST.
