The $10,000 price tagis mainly due to the enormous 30-inch flat panel monitor. Built for gaming enthusiasts, the processor will clock in at4.26 Ghz. The custom paint job alone might set you back a few hundred. The two-football-fields-long airship hasn't reached the prototype stage yet but one might be ready by2010. The hotel in the sky has a range of several thousand miles with an estimated top speed of 174 mph. The interiormight include luxury rooms, restaurants, and a casino. Several cruise ship companies have expressed interest in theproject. Capacity is limited to 250 passengers. I like the flying hotel concept but the traveling speed suggests theflying adventure is more important than the destination.

The Flying Luxury Hotel originally appeared on Luxist on Thu, 16 Feb 2006 20:02:00 EST. It's an automatedprocess which makes ice cream on the spot. We'll call it an ice cream vending machine and it's pretty damn cool.Every scoop is custom made right within the machine. You can choose 12 different flavors and 3 kinds of mix-ins in eachmachine. All you standard flavors are available: Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry. Other flavors include Caramel,Butter Pecan and Cake Batter. Mix-ins include Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter Cups and Walnuts. Choose your flavorand mix-in and within seconds your custom scoop is served. No word if the machines are available yet and we're not sureabout the taste but I haven't ran across a bad scoop of ice cream yet.

MooBella Ice Cream originally appeared on Luxist on Thu, 09 Feb 2006 10:03:00 EST. Recently the realtor, Chris Knight, turned down an offer from Sean "Diddy" Combs to rent theestate on Super Bowl weekend. Guess he didn't come up with enough cash. Eminem is not buying it nor is Madonna as faras we know. The 21,363-square-foot-home is hidden behind surveillance cameras and a remote-controlled gate. All 6bedrooms have their own bath. There is a movie theater, a bowling alley, a steam room, a wine vault and wine tastingroom, cigar room, a media room with seven built-in big-screen TVs and a herringbone leather floor. The pool has a60-foot-long water slide. There are more than $5 million worth of landscaped waterfalls, seven ponds with trout andbass. There's enough garage space for 10 luxury vehicles.
Today Apple quietly announced a 1GB nano on their storefor $149. Our friends over at Engadget speculate Apple may be phasingout the shuffle which now sells for $69 for 512MB. A 1GB nano for $149 seems a little steep and song capacity is nowdown to 240 songs. Still enough jams for that quick workout or walk around the block, but you won't be carrying youentire music library with you on vacation.

iPod Nano Now 1GB originally appeared on Luxist on Tue, 07 Feb 2006 22:23:00 EST. Actor Bruce Willis reportedly leased out a $55,000 per month apartmentthis month in New York's Trump Tower. The most expensive rental on the list is a $300,000 Miami-area mansion on StarIsland. Top celebrities are usually the tenants for the rentals, such as Meg Ryan, Kevin Costner and Robert DeNiro whohave short-term rentals in Chicago. In L.A, reality-television shows and sitcoms find the rent of a mansion to be farcheaper than creating a set from scratch.

Forbes Most Expensive Rentals originally appeared on Luxist on Wed, 01 Feb 2006 07:15:00 EST. Bought your 20-foot suband 50 pounds of chips? Are you watching on a Plasma? HDTV? Got surround sound? Our sibling engadget has a lookat pre Super Bowl prep, everything from that HDTV to refrigerators with a built-in 13-inch cable-ready LCD TV. On aside note, the Seahawks' are traveling in style thanks to their owner, Microsofts Paul Allen. The team has its ownplane, and it's not exactly your average 757. "It's almost unfair," quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said."Some people sleep on the flights. I tend not to sleep because I am so enamored by all of the stuff on the plane. The bathroom that is right in front of my seat is nicer than the bathroom in my first house that I owned. It'sincredible. It's (the bathroom) got windows, it's got mouthwash, and perfumes for the flight attendants."

Tell us how you're partying for the big game. HDTV? Champagne? The jacket is waterproof and can be sent through airport security withoutremoving all your gadgets. The 40 pockets include compartments for your PDA, MP3 player, cellular phone, water bottle, wallet, keys, sunglasses and pens. The jacket also features a protective badge holder, a magnetic wind flap, and azipped pocket-in-pocket system that turns one pocket into two. It sells for $229.95.

The Federal Agent Travel Jacket originally appeared on Luxist on Mon, 09 Jan 2006 19:44:00 EST.

What is it with us guys and our toys? Is it the need for speed? Is there a button pushing, knob turning, gadget gene
built into each of us? Is it our own greed? A need for attention? Here's our list of luxury toys for guys that may
answer a few of those questions.

1.Bugatti Veyron
If you're in the need for speed the
Bugatti Veyron will
satisfy your lead foot. 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 252mph. The long-awaited million dollar baby is
the ultimate driving machine.

2. Maybach Exelero
Call it the Batmobile or a stylish futuristic look at ultra-luxury cars, there's something about the
Mayback Exelero we couldn't ignore. Long, sleek, stylish
and luxurious, the Maybach will surely draw a lot of attention. Unfortunately, this beauty is still only a concept car
as far as we know.

3. The 118 WallyPower Megayacht
The 118 WallyPower is one of those luxury yachts you
just have to see to believe. It's like a luxurious stealth battleship. This one will set you back more than a few
million.

4. Skycar Prototype
The answer to road rage. The M400 Skycar is the world's
first personal vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft, designed to elevate individual drivers above the highway.
Get your own through Neiman Marcus for $3.5
million.

5. HEMI-Grille
Daimler Chrysler had a "What Can You Hemi?" contest earlier this year which challenged anyone to come up with a
creative use for their famous 5.7-liter, 340+horsepower HEMI V8. Chrysler got things rolling with a
HEMI-Grille. This baby cooks up 240 hot dogs in less than
three minutes and will impress the hell out of your friends. You will have to build your own since it's not for
sale.

screen blows up within five minutes. The screen comes with a portable DVD player and dual 15" speakers with
stands to pump out the jams and sell for $9,999.

basements rec room. Designed to be fully compatible with all PC-based game emulators, the platform can play tens of
thousands of classic games designed for use with Microsoft Windows Operating System. The MEGA can also be used as an

on your dashboard or windshield and the backlit LCD shows your menus or song lists. The stylish and futuristic

Forbes is currently featuring Billionaire Bathrooms, an
ultra-luxurious look at bathroom decor for the wealthy. This is perhaps the coolest bathroom fixture I've seen. Relax
in the tub, pimp yourself in the mirror, and watch your stock prices rise on the LCD television which is built into the
crafted mirror. Turn on the screen and the mirrored glass lets the picture show through. Turn it off and and it's
hidden. Houdini wouldn't be able to figure this one out. Hook it up
to cable, DVD, satellite, sound or other systems (maybe an iPod?). Price: $3,000 to $15,000 .

height="200" hspace="4" vspace="4" width="200" />This portable 4.4 cubic foot fridge might fool a few a friends
when you open it up to grab a cold one. It looks like most garage-style tool boxes and features metal door pulls;
easy-clean countertop surface; interior lighting; door lock security system (a great feature); can stacker; heavy-duty,
easy-rolling locking casters; ample shelving; and auto-defrost. The stealth fridge (beers? what beers?)
sells for $349.

height="176" hspace="4" vspace="4" width="250" />The largest consumer auto show for modified luxury cars is coming
to the Anaheim Convention Center on December 3rd from 1-9 p.m. The show features one-of-a-kind Ferraris, Porsches,
Lamborghinis, Mercedes, BMWs and Cadillacs. About 400 world class luxury cars will compete in 40 judging categories
ranging from Super-Car and Exotic to Celebrity Car and Best Superbike. You'll catch a glimpse of the million-dollar,
6.0 liter V12 Ferrari ENZO, the 200 mile per hour
Twin Turbo Saleen S7 (my personal favorite) and the
first west coast appearance of the 2007 Escalade. If the cars are not enough to keep you entertained, there will be a
sports bar with poker tables and plasma screens broadcasting college football. So to sum up, you've got exotic cars,
poker tables, beer and plasma screens featuring football. What more could a guy ask for? Perhaps our sibling
Autoblog will have additional coverage.

Will Wal-Mart and Costco change the way we shop for luxury items?

Is Wal-Mart trying to lure more upscale shoppers? We mentioned
back in April that the company was going to court upscale
shoppers and it appears that time has come. Wal-Mart is offering this 18K Gold Ring on their website. The 1-3/4
carat diamond ring features a 1-1/2 carat, square-cut fancy-yellow grade center diamond framed by white diamonds. The
price? $9,988.00. Might as well call it 10 grand. 10 grand and Wal-Mart. Just doesn't sound right, does it?

room to carry other personal items, such as a small camera or headphones. Choose blue, orange or white.

Dell is trying to pick up lagging sales growth by offering more stylish and luxurious computers. The XPS line
features sleek titanium, silver and black designs aimed at "conveying strength, drama and boldness." Are they trying to
compete with Apple's style and hipness? Possibly, but they have a long way to go. They are however paying more
attention to style which is refreshing.

heard about the cruise ship attacked by pirates. The ship is the Miami-based
Seabourn Spirit. Some guests upon the luxury cruise
liner may have enjoyed one of the 575 square foot suites. The suites feature an expansive ocean view, dining area,
forward-facing private veranda, bedroom with one queen-size bed, one walk-in closet and one alcove closet, television
with VCR, fully-stocked bar, one bathroom with tub, shower and large vanity, one guest bath with vanity, and a personal
safe. We hope this attack doesn't hurt the cruise industry.

pace. If you want your iPod nano and nature to somehow blend together, the iWood nano has arrived (ships on October
20th). Carved from a single block of wood, you can choose walnut, maple, mahogany, pear, or wenge. A monogram of
your choice can be engraved on the top and two line messages on the inside lid. The inside lid pictured here says "For
Melinda with love, Bill". What's up with that?

height="125" hspace="4" vspace="4" width="250" />Vermont and New England always seem to be popular fall getaways.
One of my favorite locations for seeing fall colors is in West Virginia which is home to the very luxurious
Greenbrier Resort. The Greenbrier is an award-winning resort located in White
Sulphur Springs, WV. The property offers 803 rooms, including 33 suites and 96 guest and estate houses. There are 3
championship golf courses, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and a 38,000 square foot spa. Currently the Greenbrier is
offering a "Fall in the Mountains package" with unlimited golf and tennis. Other activities include mountain biking
along the scenic Greenbrier River Trail, an off road driving school, and numerous hunting and fishing trips. What's
your favorite fall destination?<script src="chrome://greasemonkey/content/scripts/1102161148673"

nevermind. A1 Luxury Limousine Of South Florida seems to be setting
the standard when it comes to custom limos. The Cadillac Escalade Limousine pictured here holds 17 passengers, has a
