With all of its pleating/ruffles and dainty chain shoulder straps, it holds a whimsical and lady-like feel. This would be a fun alternative to your typical work bag. Perhaps he has that magic touch where for years anything he touches has been successful or maybe we all just love what he does because he is Marc and we expect to be bewildered yet excited about his creations - who knows?

Whatever the case may be, I am pretty much hooked on almost everything he does. I trust his taste and style even when I don't immediately agree with his vision because I know he will always push the envelope all the while having fun and taking chances with fashion. Take for example Jacob's Flights of Fancy Shopper featured here. It's a colorful and quirky collection of various animals set in the outdoors. And although it may not fit the mold of the next "it" bag, it is certainly unique and refreshingly different from the rest of the monotone color oversized bags that have become so popular - which by the way I love as well. The Flights of Fancy Shopper has character all on its own and not because it is a recreation of what shoppers have become accustomed to but because it is Marc once again having fun with fashion. In our technology driven lifestyle, I can't remember last I sat still and played a boardgame that had no rings, buzzers, computerized cash register, credit card swiping sounds or batteries to it. When I was a kid I could play a board game for hours on end. I remember when my dad first taught me how to play chess and backgammon and even though I had no idea what I was doing, it was fun just to play with my dad. Or when I got Monopoly and Life and my "too cool for anyone" older brother and sister actually played with me. Or when my friends taught me how to play the card game Spit and we would have fierce competitions during recess. Dominos was the best to play solo because you could build with them or line them all up in a pattern and watch them fall one by one.

There is no doubt that any piece of art by legendary pop artist Keith Haring would go for thousands of dollars. But in my mind, I think that would equate to a larger than life wall sized canvas. However, given that I know little about the cost/value of art, I can see how I could be completely mistaken. And don't get me wrong - being a huge Keith Haring fan, I have purchased whatever I could afford that had his artwork all over it. Last week at the Phillips de Pury's Auction, Keith Haring's 22 year old wooden skateboard that he drew on with magic marker sold for $16,250. Man, how I wish I had a spare 16 grand to spend.
