The World's Sexiest Penthouses
Lavish bedrooms, the city's best views to gaze upon, and largest of bath tubs to soak are just a few of the perks of the World's Sexiest Penthouses. Our buddies at Gadling shows us Condé Nast Traveler's list of these ultra penthouses. Take the Skylofts at MGM Grand in Las Vegas for instance, at $10,000 per night, which includes the room-sized "immersion chambers" (large showers dousing you with waterfalls, steam, and rain). There is also the Presidential Suite in Intercontinental Hong Kong at $11,215 a night, where you can rest in infinity pool while staring at one of the most beautiful skylines in the world.Swarovski Crystalised Fridge by Gorenje
Appropriately named The Eye-catcher, this premium fridge-freezer is all black featuring 7,000 hand
embedded crystals from Swarovski. Only 10 will be produced, which should get things rolling on the Commercial
Line which is based on the Eye-catcher. It comes in black and silver with a still reputable 3,500
crystals. The high tech fridge is controlled by an eye level screen mounted on the fridge door allowing temperature
adjustments, monitoring and alarms to be set in addition to a voice recorder/player. Price to be announced.

Beer Spas
I have always used the occasional left over Belgian brew to wash my hair with the next morning (try it out, it leaves
your hair silky and clean), but I don’t know why it never struck me to bathe in beer. Over the past 10 years,
beer spas have popped up in Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic. At these beer spas, every sense is enveloped in
beer; the bubbly sticky liquid on your skin, the hops in the air, to the beer in your mug. You can also try the brewski
facial: an über gooey face mask made from ground hops, malt, honey and cream cheese. These half hour bath
treatments start at about $55.Vega Sicilia Wine Tasting
On Sunday,
April 30, Compass Restaurant in New York City is hosting an exclusive
six-course meal prepared by Chef John Fraser paired with hand-picked Vega Scilia wines. Vega Scilia is known for their
meticulous wine making processes coupled with an extremely long aging period and low harvest yields which result in
their famous wines prized for their complexity, elegance, and finesse. This unique opportunity to explore wines from
Spain’s most stately producer, while at the same time savoring the imaginative, sophisticated flavor pairings
will cost $515. Read further to see Fraser’s 6-course menu paired with appropriate wines:
Hendrick's Gin
I can unhesitatingly say this is absolutely the best gin I have ever had. Feathery, crisp, and a clear essence of cucumber. With it I have made an absolutely prestigious gin martini and gin and tonic.
Video of Tuesday's Glenfiddich Auction
Rare 1937 Glenfiddich sold
Yours truly attended last night’s auction
of the Glenfiddich Rare Collection 1937 that we mentioned earlier. A bottle
of the world's oldest whisky was auctioned off for the first time at the hammer price of $20,000. It was a pretty
intense auction with prices going back and forth, and a pretty feisty auctioneer (be sure to check back in a few days,
as I will be posting a video of the auction).
I was fortunate enough to speak with some of the folks at Glenfiddich, and they uncorked the original cask from 1937 and allowed me to literally stick my nose in it. The bouquet of smells were amazing! The interesting thing is that when this cask left Scotland it was dry, and after being in the US for a few days, the difference of climate caused the whiskey to be released from the wood, creating a new puddle of whiskey.
Half Smoked Cigar for Auction
Why would a 56 year old half-smoked
cigar be of any value to anybody? Because it was once smoked by Winston Churchill of course. The former Prime
Minster of the United Kingdom was about to give a speech in a ballroom where he was asked to extinguish his half burnt
cigar. Churchill snubbed it on the ground and handed it to the constable standing next to him. This once souvenir to
the constable is now being sold by his relatives. The half ashed cigar will be going up for sale in April, but
the amount is unknown as this is such an unusual auction.A Personal Taste Of Compass Box: Asyla
Next up of the Compass Box line I had this weekend is Asyla. Not refined
as the earlier mentioned Peat Monster, but still very pleasant on the tongue. Grainy, with dry fruit tastes and the
finish reminds me of the pepperness of a strong black coffee. Pretty drinkable. Asyla is a 50/50 blend of grain and
malt whiskies mostly from Cragganmore, Linkwood, Glen Elgin, Cabus, and Cameron Bridge.A Personal Taste Of Compass Box: The Peat Monster
I finally got to try The Peat
Monster by Compass Box this weekend and was quite impressed considering
that your everyday urbane whisky drinkers are not too familiar with this brand. I have a personal infatuation for peaty
whiskies and this truly hits the spot. The smokiness was so dynamic that it reminded me of a char cooked porterhouse on
an open campfire. It coats the tongue quite copiously like a fine oil. Malty, sweet, and almost smokes off the
tongue. It went well with the Spanish blue cheese I was having at the time. The Peat Monster is comprised of vatted
100% single malt whisky mainly made of Caol Ila and Ardmore, all aged between 10 and 15 years old.
