Venge Bicycle by S-Specialized + McLaren

S-Specialized + McLaren Venge

Bicycles are one of the oldest forms of mechanical transport we have. So surely there's not much new that can be done with it, right? That's what we thought until we saw the Venge racing bike.

Designed by the McLaren Formula One racing team's applied technologies division and built in collaboration with Specialized Bicycle Components, the Venge features a frame that weighs only 2.09 pounds, which is some 10-15% lighter even than other carbon fiber bike frames.

So who got to test it out? None other than 2009 Tour de France winner Mark Cavendish, riding the classic Milan-San Remo race last weekend. He may have only finished 52nd, but that's still better than the 104 riders who finished behind him, never mind the legions who didn't make it to the end altogether.
