A host of international celebrities, creative icons, industry leaders and conservationists are joining together with famed auction house Christie's to support the 2011 Green Auction -- a momentous live event and companion online auction raising funds and awareness for the preservation and sustainability of the planet.

Christie's has partnered with luxury charity auction site charitybuzz.com to put more than 200 coveted auction packages online from now through April 7 to raise funds for Oceana, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Conservation International and the Central Park Conservancy.

From the ultimate Oscars experience to a private yacht for the Cannes Film Fest to an exclusive day with President Clinton, the Green Auction is "giving bidders incredible access to the world's most coveted luxury experiences." There are so many incredible experiences on offer we're going to present it to you in two parts.

It's kind of funny that two the prizes to help save the planet are a private jet trip with Harrison Ford and a private yacht for the Canne Film Festival. I'm no environmentalist, but aren't these two of the biggest burners and wastes of fossil fuels when it comes to transportation?
