Summit Ranch, Estate of the Day

High on a hill in the Summit Ranch subdivision in Denver, Colorado is today's home which was originally listed for $3.25 million. Concierge Auctions will sell this home on June 14 in cooperation with listing agents Jim and Barbara Appleby of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, who are also the sellers.
The six-bedroom home on more than 10 acres offers 11,000-square feet of space. The home's open floor plan and large windows are meant to make the most of the Continental Divide's natural beauty with sunrise, snow-capped and sunset mountain views. The home is also designed with spacious decks and patios overlooking acreage. The sunken great room has a massive stone hearth which opens to the gourmet kitchen and dining room. Warm, red oak floors ground an impressively high, 16-foot ceiling with a unique wood-encased beam treatment. The kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances including a professional gas range with six burners and griddle, a stainless steel refrigerator and freezer and a built-in wine center. The formal dining space opens to the great room and features a unique, wood-beamed ceiling with custom faux painting. The sunken library, also just off the great room has built-in knotty alder bookcases and a built-in wet bar with slab granite countertops and a copper bar sink. Two additional spaces on this main floor are a formal office with built-in knotty alder cabinets and bookshelves and slab granite desktop with its own outside entry door and a multipurpose room that could be used as private office space, a nursery or guest bedroom quarters.
The multi-room master suite has an exercise room, two fireplaces, a private covered porch, wet bar, spa bathroom, large closets and a laundry room. The lower level has a game room, sports bar/entertaining area, wine closet three bedrooms and a heated garage. The more than 1,500-square-foot unfinished space in the walkout level could be transformed into an expansive theater room, additional living or merely storage space.
Summit Ranch is open daily by appointment. For more details call 877-463-5280 or visit SummitRanchAuction.com.

Here we go again! $3.25 million for...a house whose 3 car garage is the most prominent feature of the facade; whose rear side looks like an unfinished, undersized dump; whose interiors emphasize oversized wooden window casements; whose furnishings are "nouveau-riche" high end furniture mart; which lacks any real warmth; where art is completely absent; where "big" substitutes for "great." Oh well, I can't afford anything like it, but if I could...this would NOT be "it."

The property itself is nice, as are the views, but the house is a little meh to me. I can't say I like the decor either, but then again, I don't guess the furniture is staying with the house after it's sold anyway, so.... I am a 35 years old doctor, mature and beautiful.and now I am seeking a good man who can give me real love , so i got a username Andromeda2002 on-----Age'M'ingle. C'○M------- .it is the first and best club for
wealthy people and their admirers. e…you don’t have to be rich ,but you can meet one there ,maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends !

It's almost 1 p.m. PST 3/19, and no EOTD yet :( Hope it's coming ;)
Stephen Riggs Mar 20th 2011 10:12PM
Unfortunately Eric, I think this may be our last EOTD. Deidre posted a few days ago letting everyone know that he/she was let go. It is really a sad situation, as I think it was Deirdre’s posts were the reason many of us became fans of Luxist.
Anyway, if you happen to read this Deidre please get in touch, I may have an opportunity for you. And if you are already moved on to bigger and better horizons, let us know where we can follow you!

I never saw Diedre's post stating she was "let go." And that is odd because I am here twice a day and read all of the posts.
Very strange. Who know what the truth is.

Nice place. Just wasn't what I expected. Missing something but I can't determine what. Didn't care for the decor-it seemed like it should be more of a lodge style decor.

This is how you destroy a website. Why throw it away, AOL? Pair it down, make necessary changes but to throw it all away? Very unwise.
Goodbye, Luxist. It appears you are dead.
Good luck, Deidre. You can be very proud of the work you did here.
Stephen Riggs Mar 22nd 2011 8:23PM
Yea total bummer. I just went back and can understand why you were confused. I think they took her goodbye post off. I keep checking back thinking it is a joke.

IT COULD BE AQUIRED FOR HALF OF THAT PRICE!

Is It New? Is It U.S.ed?
Carole Mar 22nd 2011 2:56PM
I am always stunned to see what poor taste in decorating some of these rich people have. It cannot even be called eclectic. It's almost like they took in leftover furniture from relatives just to furnish the place. Perhaps they spent too much on the house and had no money left over.

Please put me in your will.
