Glenlivet 70 Generations from Gordon & MacPhail

Independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail stole headlines last year in the whisky world when they released the oldest single malt ever bottled. That was a 70-year old scotch from the Mortlach distillery, launching the company's Generations series. Now G&M has followed up with another classic, this time from the world-famous Glenlivet.
Poured into a first-fill American Oak sherry cask in February 1940 during the Battle of Britain, this extraordinary whisky has aged for over seven decades, slowly maturing and shrinking in volume as the angels took their share. The remaining 100 full-size 700ml decanters are now available at an astounding £13,000 apiece, with a 175 smaller 200ml bottles also available at £3,200 each.
