A Well-Designed Penthouse at Manhattan House, Estate of the Day

Today's home is a designer aerie at Manhattan House on New York's Upper East Side. The one-bedroom, 1.5 bath corner penthouse residence was given the glam treatment by the ever-stylish Rita Konig who created a cozy home with luxury touches. The 1,151-square-foot residence located at the Upper East Side iconic, landmarked condominium has a formal entry gallery, wood-burning fireplace and a 368-square-foot landscaped wraparound terrace with northern and eastern views of the Manhattan skyline. The same lovely views also add interest in the dining and sitting rooms.
The windowed kitchen is outfitted with Viking Professional Series stainless steel appliances with wine cooler, terrazzo floor tiles, Caesarstone Lagos Blue countertops, Ann Sacks glass tile backsplash, and custom wood cabinetry. The master bathroom has Waterworks glass tiles, polished chrome fixtures and radiant floor heating. The home also features a powder room with mosaic tile.
The Manhattan House offers a variety of amenities including the residents-only rooftop level with Manhattan Club and exhale® spa, a Roto Studio-designed children's playroom, exhale fitness center, full-time doormen, five-star concierge services, private porte-cochère entrances, and on-site parking with available valet services. This home is listed at $2.1 million with Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group.

I like the wall color and the style, but it also reminds me of most of my old apartments (minus the fancy applicances and posh location).

Of what room?

Reminds me of MY old apartment, too! Minus the natural light, (never mind view! light!), hardwood floors, artwork, fireplace, single turquoise armchair....doesn't this place have a kitchen?? - well, if you can afford it, you can afford to Not Cook...I like the windowboxes full of daisies on the balcony, I picture someone with a martini looking out at the skyline past the flowers, thinking "ah, MY New York"...why is the bench on the balcony looking inside, instead of out at that expensive view??...I DO like the lack of clutter, the clean minimal look, the art. That bathroom sink - love there aren't a hundred half used bottles of shampoo. Love the shelves and shelves and shelves full of books. No Walmart Special Gigundo TV squatting in a corner - no TV at all. A smart, quiet, educated person lives here, probably a single man. Maybe a middle aged married couple.

1150 sq. ft. 2.1 MILLION $..."plain potato" looks; cold, dry "feel." Uhhh, no thanks, "NYC Penthouse!"

Sorry, looks too much like a Drs. office, or Lawyer's office to me. Don't see Luxerious.

Not like any offices I've ever lawyered or any doctor's offices I've been to. This penthouse is remarkably old looking. I could almost smell it as I looked.
No thank you.

The old push button telephone next to the tin can full of pencils-wtf?
Or the tulips that have completely wilted and are now pointing down....
Old and dirty jars. Furniture that looks like it's from the Salvation Army. Sink and medicine cabinet....from 1960.
All so bad it defies logic.

It's light and colorful. I like the decor. My only complaint is the ceiling height--seems low and a bit oppressive.
