Academy Awards Red-Carpet Round-Up 2011

After yesterday's brisk temperatures and gloomy skies it was a welcome relief to see blue skies and sunshine for Oscar Sunday. At the Academy Awards we saw a lot of stars dressing for whatever the weather might bring.
We were promised a big, bold red carpet this year, a change from the last few years where stars felt a little more subdued. We saw vibrant colors, rich embroidery and large jewels galore at this year's red carpet. The full rainbow is below...

Oscars host Anne Hathway walked the red carpet in vintage Valentino and posed with the designer himself. She wore a 94 carat, $10 million Tiffany Lucida Star Diamond Necklace; Tiffany 10-carat diamond earrings ($60,000) and a 5-carat diamond ring ($213,000).

Jennifer Laurence, nominated for Best Actress for her role in "Winter's Bone" wore a red-hot Calvin Klein collection dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and a Judith Leiber bag. Her platinum and fancy yellow 16 carat diamond earrings were by Chopard.

Sandra Bullock wore a red Vera Wang gown. Her platinum and diamond stud earrings, and vintage platinum and diamond bangles by Harry Winston.

Penelope Cruz walked the red carpet on the arm of her husband Javier Bardem. She wore a maroon L'Wren Scott dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and matching bag. Bardem wore a Gucci suit. She wore a platinum and 10 carat pink sapphire ring with two carat diamonds by Chopard.

Jennifer Hudson showed off her slim figure in a body-conscious Versace gown. Her platinum and fancy colored diamond ring, platinum and diamond earrings, wide platinum and 50 carat diamond bracelet, and a platinum and diamond leaf bracelet were all by Neil Lane.

Young Best Supporting Actress nominee Hailee Steinfeld was ballerina pretty in a custom Marchesa gown with embroidered sequin detail and a tea-length tulle skirt. Her platinum and 10 carat diamond headband, and a platinum and diamond ring were by Fred Leighton.
The Blues and Purples

Mila Kunis was glamorous in a lavender Elie Saab Spring 2011 Couture gown with Neil Lane platinum and diamond jewelry and a Bottega Veneta clutch.

Cate Blanchett's Givenchy Couture gown was considered by some to be a fashion risk because of its unique bodice.

Scarlett Johansson wore a vibrant violet dress with a keyhole back by Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Amy Adams paired her midnight blue sequinned gown by L'Wren Scott with an emerald necklace and a platinum and diamond and carved emerald haute joaillerie secret watch bracelet from Cartier worth $1.025 million.

"Winter's Bone" actress Dale Dickey also chose deep blue sequins to complement her fair skin and red hair.

Natalie Portman glowed in a eggplant purple Rodarte gown. She accessorized with Tiffany rubellite tassel earrings with rose-cut diamonds, an Elsa Peretti Diamonds by the Yard bracelet, diamond earrings (worn as hair accessories) and diamond ring, both by Jean Schlumberger.
The Creams, Whites and Silvers and Golds

Best Actress nominee Michelle Williams wore a beaded Chanel Haute Couture gown and Jimmy Choo platform pumps. Her platinum and diamond earrings and a platinum and diamond ring were by Harry Winston.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore a Calvin Klein Collection dress and Brian Atwood's gold leather "Martina" pumps and wore a brooch from Louis Vuitton's jewelry collection at her waist.

Nicole Kidman, nominated for Best Actress for her role in "Rabbit Hole" wore a Dior dress with a rare 19th century diamond Riviere necklace from Fred Leighton and Pierre Hardy shoes. She also wore a platinum and 13 carat diamond ring by Fred Leighton.

Melissa Leo, nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "The Fighter" wore a short-sleeve lace gown with a high collar by Marc Bouwer. The dress has a golden underlayer which matched her shoes and gold jewelry.

Mandy Moore wore a glittering Monique Lhuillier gown with Chopard jewelry.

Halle Berry was as gorgeous as ever in a crystal-covered Marchesa gown with an elaborate train of organza and silk tulle ruffles.Her platinum and 10 carat diamond drop earrings, and platinum rings with fancy colored diamonds were by Neil Lane.
The Navys, Grays and Blacks

Color-blocked feathers, an updo and diamond chandelier earrrings created a dramatic look for Virginia Madsen.

Reese Witherspoon wore an Armani Prive gown. Her platinum and diamond bangle, platinum and diamond bracelet, platinum ring with diamonds and emeralds, and a pair of platinum earrings with emeralds and diamonds were all by Neil Lane.

Entertainment correspondent Maria Menounos kept warm in a one-sleeved black velvet gown with Sutra rough diamond earrings.

Helena Bonham-Carter wore a velvet gown by costume designer Colleen Atwood.

Cheryl Hines shimmered in a strapless gown and elaborate diamond necklace.

Annette Benning sparkled in a black sequinned gown shot through with rhinestone stripes. She also wore platinum and emerald earrings, and a platinum and diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz.

Helen Mirren wore a silk gray gown by Vivienne Westwood with Cartier jewels. Her platinum necklace from 1907 with pearls and diamonds, and a platinum bracelet with diamonds were from Cartier's Archive Museum Collection.
