Slash To Sell Off Cars, Guitars and More

slash auctionEntertainment memorabilia auction house, Julien's Auctions, is hosting an auction dedicated to the property of legendary guitarist and musician Slash. The sale includes a variety of famous guitars, memorabilia, vehicles and personal furniture and décor from his Hollywood Hills home.

Guitars include a custom Stravinski Fender Stratocaster estimated at $3,000-5,000; a B.C. Rich Red Mockingbird guitar estimated at $2,000-4,000; and two versions of Slash's very own Gibson and Epiphone Slash Les Paul signature model guitars in Tobacco Sunburst estimated at $4,000-6,000.

Aside from his epic guitar licks, Slash is also known for his distinctive appearance. The auction will also include plenty of leather such as a stage-worn Chrome Hearts leather top hat ($1,000-2,000); custom Marc Vachon leather motorcycle jackets, including one decorated in a Velvet Revolver "Libertad" theme ($1,000-2,000), and performance worn t-shirts from all phases of Slash's life and career. Combining a few lots you can basically get a whole Slash costume: other lots feature a leather Chrome Hearts suit ($2,000-3,000), Ray-Ban Large Aviator sunglasses ($200-300), a custom Rockin' Couture Guns N' Roses belt ($300-500) and a custom skull and crossbones in a top-hat necklace ($600-800).

Also for sale is a wee bit of bling in the form of a diamond encrusted guitar pendant estimated at $12,000-18,000; a Slash Guns N' Roses silver cuff ($600-800); a sterling skull link necklace (Est $1,000-2,000), and a Cartier Roadstar wristwatch ($4,000-6,000).

Less rock star but still intriguing is Slash's collection of Southeast Asian furniture items, such as the carved polychrome painted and gilded armoire ($400-600). Other decor pieces include a pair of monumental red suede conversation sofas ($3,000-4,000) that can be paired with silver and black beaded skull pillows ($200-300).

Slash is also parting with items from his personal collection such as a bench from the "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" movie set estimated at $6,000-8,000; a South Park Pinball Machine estimated at $2,500-3,500; and a 2007 Harley Davidson V-Rod VRSCAW Twin Racing Street Custom Cruiser estimated at $8,000-10,000.

The star of the show is his 1966 Corvette equipped with a big block 427 cubic inch V-8 engine with 435 horsepower, 4-speed manual transmission which could bring $90,000-$100,000. The car was the first "good car" Slash bought as his star began to ascent in the late 1980s as the popularity of Guns N'Roses took off. A portion of the proceeds from the auction benefits Los Angeles Youth Network in which Slash is very active.

Items from the sale will be up for view starting on March 7 and running through March 25 at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills with the auction scheduled for March 26th, 2011. Fans who attend the auction dressed as Slash will receive a free catalog.
