Clay Aiken Lists His North Carolina Home
The Real Estalker led us to the news that Clay Aiken is leaving his North Carolina home behind. The American Idol star bought his home in Cary, North Carolina in 2006 for $2.361 million. The six-bedroom home is on over six acres inside a gated community. The home measures an impressive 9,392 square feet and has a large home theater, professional kitchen, bonus rooms, recreation room, exercise area and a marble foyer with a curved staircase.Aiken has moved on and the home is bare of furniture but thanks to to the Real Estalker's astute commenters we found the videos from a tour he gave local television station WRAL when he moved in. Those videos (posted after the jump) deliver details including the fact that everything in his kitchen has to be blue and silver. The game room in the basement has red cabinets, a retro stainless steel backsplash and a black and white floor. In the videos it is shown outfitted as a 1950s diner-style space where once fellow American Idol contestants Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard competed in a friendly game of pool. Now the bare home theater has just a single row of seats but when Aiken was in residence the lower tiers of the room were stuffed with large bean bag chairs. Aiken also had an "Africa room," a guest bedroom decorated with art he gathered from around the world during his trips for UNICEF. The home is listed at $2.7 million with LaChapelle Properties.

Great mansion. I think he's probably selling it because of the direction his career is headed. NC surely is gorgeous! Whenever I see property there I am drawn to it.

Just watched the tapes-I think he's better off without his belongings in the home if he wants to sell it. They aren't bad but he badly needed a stager instead of his mom to make it all pull together.
That would have made a BIG difference.

Looks like it would be perfect for the Clampetts, I can just see Ellie Mae splashing in the cement pond.

I've got to admit the house is very very nice and well priced. Clay's home is with out a doubt one of the nicest looking celeb home I've seen. Unlike some other celeb homes that are nothing less then over the top gawdy. Clay's home is very tastefully furnished and the interior is very welcoming.
If I had the money, I'd buy it in a hart beat. My 5 Great Danes would love the interior space, as well as the out door space. Its truly a beautiful home.

Probably moving back to Wake County to enroll his son in the public schools ( which he has said he would do ).He hates the new school board also and would love to attend the meetings to annoy them.Go Clay!!!!This is a bad time to sell tho.

His baby was born August 8, 2008 and is hardly "school age."
I don't think the move was for that reason at all. Clay's career has completely tanked.

why is everyone on american idol gay?
JLS Feb 23rd 2011 2:48AM
Sexual preference doesn't have anything to do with AI or performing.
Actually, it has nothing to do with any of this.

it is worth the bucks. that much square footage, in that gated community plus that much acreage!! and no, its not because of his career. he has always said he would live in the same school district he did when he was going to school so his child could go to school there. would NOT be surprised to see him run for school board actually.
JLS Feb 23rd 2011 2:45AM
His baby is 2.5 years old! This child is FAR too YOUNG to enter public school. Perhaps when this child is of school age Clay's choice would be to live in a certain school district but he's got a couple of years to go before that can happen.
As for his career-it's completely tanked. Google him. He hasn't released anything because the last time he did, it wasn't very successful. He is on the decline (since 2003 according to the information in several websites) and has offered many of his holiday songs online for FREE just last Christmas.
He has lasted a very long time compared to most AI people and that says something positive.
