Snobs who can not stand success of others.<br><br>Respect has to be earned.  But one can not earn respect, as RWayne said, by bashing established brands.<br><br>Audi will never ever come even close to magic magnetism of a Mercedes. Nor sportiness of a BMW.  While solid, Audis lack personality. The brand may be perceived as a luxury only by VW drivers. <br><br>And I do not drive Mercedes. But let's be honest in this situation, Mercedes and Audi have always had a very great rivalry when it comes to ads. To say that this ad is "bashing" Mercedes seems a little much. To say that Audi is trying to point out their competition and speak to Mercedes owners and try to influence car shoppers who are on the fence or new to a "luxury" class of vehicle, I think is much more realistic.<br><br>The auto industry in general is making a big push to advertise in this year's Super Bowl. GM is back after a 2 year break and companies like Cars.com have come back for the 4th time in a row. Like Audi, they have released their commercials early focused on consumer and expert reviews. Maybe Audi can use the Cars.com message to reinforce it's message.
