Architectural in Reno, Estate of the Day

The architecture of this home in Reno, Nevada drew me right in, a home saved from contemporary blockiness by a pompadour-like swoop of a roof. The listing says that this 2005 Grand Award Winner has been featured on HGTV for its unique architecture, design and finishes. It is on 2.5 acres and perched on a bluff for shimmering skyline views of the city in the distance. The design centers on the core of the house with massive windows in the family room and the master bedroom. The owner is apparently a big sports fan, there are framed professional jerseys, a basketball hoop and large sculptures of sports figures. This home is listed at $2.495 million.

Love the isolation this home provides! All the glass and views are stunning. The sports figures are something that would have to be taken down-which might provide a challenge to the next owner.
Clean, angular and modern. This home is all about the views and that's what I love about it.

Only two things I liked about this house, the view and the bathtub. Pompadour-like swoop of a roof? Oh pleeeeze!
