Best and Worst of the 2011 Golden Globes Red Carpet

Covered arms, blush colored gowns, outrageous shoes, this was an unusual Golden Globes night full of intriguing sartorial choices (more sleeves than I've seen in years). Actresses often steer away from red on the red carpet but Christina Hendricks went in the other direction. Red hair, red Romona Keveza gown, red lipstick-- too much or just right, for many actresses that seemed to be the question of the evening as looks varied from modest to mischievous.

Glowing Natalie Portman wore a Viktor & Rolf dress accessorized with a Tiffany & Co. multi-row diamond necklace set in platinum (Retail Value: $67,500); Tiffany Metro diamond band ring set in 18k white gold (Retail Value: $1,750) and oval diamond stud earrings set in platinum (Retail Value: $28,200).

Young True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld wore a sophisticated Prabal Guring dress paired with simple silver wave bracelets by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. jewelry (Retail Value: $675, $950) that matched her silver nails.
Jennifer Lopez dazzled in a white Zuhair Murad gown with a deep slit with a sheer cape-like overlay that matched her sparkling shoes and purse. She also wore huge diamond Harry Winston jewelry.

Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss was radiant in a green satin Donna Karan dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Judith Leiber bag, and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Also part of the green scene was the ravishing Mila Kunis in Vera Wang.

Eva Longoria's Zac Posen gown featured a satin belt, short sleeves, deep cleavage and a large swoop of a train, one of the longer ones around this evening.

Michelle Williams was fresh as a daisy in her Valentino gown.

Anne Hathaway may have kept her arms covered but her Armani Prive gown revealed her entire back.

Olivia Wilde who starred in Tron star paired her glittering Marchesa frock with a Tiffany & Co. 18k Yellow Gold Yellow Citrine Ring (Retail Value: $1,500) and 18k Yellow Gold Yellow Citrine Stud Earrings (Retail Value: $1,100) that went with her golden and sky-high Christian Louboutin shoes.

Sandra Bullock carried on the trend of the evening for soft blush and nude gowns. Hers was Jenny Packham. Reviews were mixed on her bangs. Some Twitter critics loved the dramatic look, others thought the sparkling gown called for an updo.

Scarlett Johansson wore an Elie Saab dress with vintage platinum and diamond bracelets and platinum and diamond hair clips by Van Cleef & Arpels.
Megan Fox was both ladylike and va-va-voom beautiful in a soft pink Armani Privé gown.

Emma Stone looks very different than she did in "Easy A" with platinum hair and a peachy Calvin Klein gown with short sleeves.

Covered arms and shoulders was another trend of the night. Leighton Meester wore a pre-fall 2011 Burberry Prorsum dress with Jimmy Choo heels, a Louis Vuitton clutch and Cathy Waterman jewels.

Christina Aguilera displayed her curves in a Zuhair Murad dress and accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a Valentino bag.

Not too many people could get away with wearing two different colored shoes on the red carpet. Helena Bonham Carter's Christmasy red and green shoes seem a bit at odds with the goth tulle Vivienne Westwood dress and her long locks.

Halley Berry showed off plenty of leg in a black Nina Ricci gown. All the better to draw attention to the Harry Winston diamond bracelets on her wrists. It wasn't a very inventive look but Halle Berry always looks beautiful.

Brad Pitt was as usual, a Tom Ford man while Angelina Jolie covered up in a shimmering emerald green Versace gown.

Catherine Zeta Jones wore a richly textured emerald gown by Monique Lhuillier.

Versace loyalist January Jones accented her daring cut-out gown with platinum and diamond earrings and platinum and diamond bracelets by Neil Lane.
Julianne Moore did Bulgari proud in a necklace of 79 carats. Her pink Lanvin dress with its one giant sleeve was not a favorite for the night.
