However the current owner's tastes really are in conflict with the house itself. The color schemes used are so dubious that in my view actually devalue the property.

I'm sure the owner is proud of the house and the remodeling job but it just took an historic property and made it look terribly common.

From the salmon colored exterior of the stucco to the excessive use of all white rooms its a bit of a hot mess sadly. Any architect or interior designer worth their salt will tell you an all white room robs any chance to showcase trim details with moldings and ceilings.

Spectacular Bid

Comments on South University Blvd., Estate of the Day

I sorry if this offends anyone, but I have NEVER seen a house more totally devoid of all charm and any character like this one. If it were not for the size or outrageous cost, this would have absolutely no business being featured on EOTD.

DJ

Comments on South University Blvd., Estate of the Day

This is pretty bad... I like the idea of the library-den room, but the execition is terrible, and there are no windows? The, uhh, "sun room" is terrible. There are way too many, poorly executed styles competing in this house.
Bad, bad, bad...
Check out my blog:http://projectdreammansion.blogspot.com/

Travis

Comments on South University Blvd., Estate of the Day

Very unusual. The staircase is really something. The sun room is just stunning. In fact, I liked many things about this home. It contains one of the most beautiful dining room tables and chairs I've ever seen. Grand and classic. With a gym like that, I wonder who lived in this mansion....

JLS

Comments on South University Blvd., Estate of the Day

Wow is that ugly.
