Everything Old Is New Again With Yves Saint Laurent's New Vintage III

Yves Saint Laurent creative director Stefano Pilati has gone into the archives again for the brand's latest project. New Vintage III is the third capsule collection from YSL that is comprised of garments made from recycled fabric and from existing patterns. The 180 pieces include classic YSL shapes such as metallic wide leg trousers, velvet tuxedo suiting jackets and leopard-print wrap dresses that look back to the 1970s designs when YSL dressed celebrities like Bianca Jagger and Catherine Deneuve. The goal of the collection is to marry "feminine refinement with sustainability." YSL's New Vintage III is available in limited, numbered editions at YSL flagship boutiques in Paris, London and New York.

Those see threw blouses back then were awful and stilll are, and some of the prints on the skirts and pants made one look as big as a house, they weren't good back then and aren't now. Some women are blessed with big hips and they should NEVER wear a print straight skirt or pants, a fashion disaster. Just because something is "IN FASHION" don't mean that it has any good taste! Women should use their common sence...I would never wear something JUST because some one said IT'S IN, that is the stupidest term ever.

Trish, If you don't like them, unless I missed something, there was no mention of you HAVING to wear them. It's just like television. If you don't like the show, turn the set off or change channels.

Trish, I saw nowhere in the article that it was a must that you wear them. Like television, if you don't like the show, turn the set off or change to another show.

There are reasons why certain trends were left back from where they came. I think they just run out of new ideas . Most people won't wear the crazy runway things, and we all want to be comfortable. But anyone can choose to wear what they want, as long as its appropriate for the occasion

Yeah, for the 1% of women that can wear a see-through blouse? Some things belong in the 1970's, including these clothes. Hey, while we are at it, how about bringing back paneling and shag carpet too?
