Love on the Slopes: EpicQuest's Valentine's Day Ski Weekend Package

Winter getaways can be very romantic if you know how to play it. Luckily, for Valentine's Day this year you can put yourself in the hands of an expert, Luxist's own Jason Tesauro, renowned lifestyle/savvy/vice expert and Random House author of The Modern Gentleman and The Modern Lover. He has partnered with EpicQuest on a truly epic Valentine's Day weekend event at Idaho's Sun Valley Lodge.

The Sun Valley Valentine's event runs from February 11-15, 2011 and is limited to 16 guests. The event begins with Blinis & Bubblies, a caviar, jazz and champagne reception in the Lodge's elegant Duchin Lounge. You can hit the slopes on Salomon Demo powder skis with "Fresh Tracks" for a day of resort skiing on "Baldy," the Valley's legendary Bald Mountain. That evening warm up with Tesauro's hot toddies in hand and head via private, horse-drawn sleigh to Trail Creek Cabin, a dining hideaway built in 1937.

The next day, get ready for helicopter skiing and enjoy a slope-side luncheon and flight of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie. Back at the Lodge, après-ski massages and spa services plus ice skating and snowshoe dancing are available during an evening to yourselves followed by pool-side Porto for in a glass-enclosed, 102-degree hot pool.

Valentine's Day begins with more heli-skiing, mountainside lunch, and a second tour of regional cheeses and charcuterie. To celebrate the 14th, your adventure culminates in a River Run gondola ride to the Roundhouse Restaurant and a multi-course, amour-themed wine dinner with Jason Tesauro. Afterward, hand-rolled cigars and boutique whiskies around a cozy fire pit. The $4,500 per person adventure is all-inclusive.
