This is an advertisement masquerading as an article.

True, but it gives us all something to dream about!

This is not an article - it is an advertisement. Shame on AOL for trying to present it as news.

I hate to tell you but this is NOT a million dollar home, maybe $200k at the very most. I build for a living and I'm here to tell you nothing about this property stands out. A million dollar build out pops, it says something, these pics are run of the mill track home stuff. I'm sure this is the best you have to offer since you always use your glam shots for your ads.
italy4fun Dec 30th 2010 10:01AM
that could be true.. 200k though doesnt buy you much these days in some places. its not just the materials its also location location location...

It appears you're not a skiier. There is more to the value of property than just the condo/house itself. A condo in one of the world's premier ski resorts is going to be valued higher than a comparable home in a non-resort area. If I could talk my spouse into such a venture, I would grab my skis and head there for such a deal in a heartbeat.

That's 'tract' home. An actual realtor knows that.

Hey all your skiers...you can have it! Whoopee! That leaves the real deal upscale foreclosures to the more savvy real estate investors who want more than "Frosty" to look at every morning.

I would bet that many of the homes offered for auction do not fetch the minimum asking price. With only 11 on the auction block, how many people will go to Ketchum, Idaho, for goodness sakes? Another example of a builder's over-exuberance (you know, build it and they will come). By the way, when were these homes built? If in the past year, that would mean construction took place long after we knew housing was in free-fall. Not too bright.

The author must live in the hood. That's luxury ???
The master bedroom had eight foot ceilings and was small, the kitchen was so common with moderate hardwood cabinets. most of the walls were plain painted sheetrock, and most obvious of all, THE UNITS WERE ATTACHED and built from a textured wood composite on the exterior.
Man, that's the lowest grade of exterior finishing ala the 1970's. Please have someone write an article THAT HAS SOME IDEA OF WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT !!!!!

Hey you softballs, I'll take a condo in Sun Valley any day-even one of these condos. Do you know what $800, 000 buys in Chicago, Glenview, Park Ridge, or Palos Hills, IL. It buys shit constructed by Eastern European mouth breathers and taped by their undocumented immigrant south of the border breathren! And there is a 50/50 chance you're neighbor will be a recent parolee with an ankle monitor on his leg watching Oprah all day long in his rent subsidized apartment that you're paying for as well. Do one of these condos in Sun Valley still seem that bad? No, I didn't so. Man, where do we get some of these knuckleheads, no wonder Obama won...
Rebecca Dec 30th 2010 3:11PM
$800,000, would buy you a mansion in Texas. I don't know how anyone can afford to live in these other area's, I think they are all over inflated for what you are getting.
Rebecca Dec 30th 2010 3:03PM
I particulary like the high beam ceilings and windows, but the kitchen isn't to my taste, nor liking. I agree with some of these other comments, I think they are a bit overpriced.
bob Dec 30th 2010 3:13PM
Right this is an advertisement.
When they did an auction in Fort Myers, the owner stopped the auction because the bids where too low.
So bid low.
