Tom Clancy Picks Up More Units At The Ritz-Carlton Baltimore

Prolific author Tom Clancy bought three penthouse condominiums at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Baltimore around this time last year. Now the Baltimore Sun is reporting that Clancy has picked up three more units at the waterfront complex. His first deal was for three combined penthouse units which equaled nearly 12,000 square feet of space with four bedrooms, six balconies, a home theater and three semi-private elevators. He bought the additional properties this fall for almost $2.2 million, far less than the $12.6 million he paid last year. The luxury project has struggled to find buyers and lowered prices over the summer. Now Clancy has a total of over 17,000 square feet at his disposal. He owns the entire penthouse level of one of the complex's six buildings. Prices in the complex range from $500,000 to $4 million and other buyers are also buying a couple of units and turning them into one larger space.

I'm planning to move to Baltimore early next year. Its good to know that the prices on these units are dropping. Combining units is a fantastic idea.

He is smart because that is a great buy which is sure to make him a hefty profit if he decides to sell in a few years!

Sweet deal! Good for him. He's definitely one of my all time favorite authors! I just wish he had more control over the screen re-writing of his novels and say in the casting. There's been some real stinkers in the casting and re-writes. I mean in the re-write of Clear and Present Danger, Mr Clark was more mercenary than he was a top notch CIA Field Agent that did black ops and casting William DaFoe was a big mistake. Don't get me wrong DaFoe is a good actor, just not as Mr Clark.

HOW can people ever truly feel comfortable with so much gaudy gluttony around them. There is a LIMIT to what constitutes comfort......and loads of money does not mean comfort.....it mean showing off. If I had a billion bucks, my ideal home would be a few acres of some beautifully wooded land and a comfortable home......less than a million. MY happiness would come giving lots of cash away to worthy charitable causes.
