Swiss Deluxe Hotels, Synonymous with Quality and Luxury

Planning an escape to Switzerland and in need of a luxury hotel? Look no further than Swiss Deluxe Hotels , which is synonymous with exclusive quality and superlative standards.
Swiss Deluxe Hotels, more formally known as the Association of Swiss Deluxe Hotels, comprises 39 of the most prestigious five-star hotels in all of Switzerland, of which 17 are city hotels and 22 are resort hotels. Each property must be independently run, or as a member of a hotel chain, be mainly autonomous.
Member hotels include The Dolder Grand and the Savoy Baur en Ville in Zurich, the Gstaad Palace, the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues and the Le Richemond in Geneva (recently renovated and a member of the prestigious Rocco Forte Collection). In St. Moritz, members include the Suvretta House, the Carlton Hotel and Badrutt's Palace Hotel in St. Moritz (a Luxist Awards nominee for best international ski hotel).
All symbolize the reputation of the Swiss luxury hotel industry and represent a total of 4,500 rooms and suites and some 9,200 beds. Swiss Deluxe Hotels are located in each of the four Swiss language regions. The largest establishment is the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace with 235 rooms, and the smallest is the Royal Park Hotel in Kandersteg with 28 rooms and complete with its own riding stables and tennis instructor.
Founded in 1934, Swiss Deluxe Hotels has a quality control program that carefully examines 800 different sets of criteria in order to fully analyze each member for the superior standards it requires. All services, from the reception given by the concierge to room service are put to the test. Additional criteria include the language and manner in which members of staff address their guests and such tiny details as whether or not a staff member makes eye contact with a visitor.
The criteria are annually monitored by mystery visitors, much like The Michelin Guides that rate the world's finest restaurants.
