The Setai New York, the East Coast's First Capella-Managed Hotel, Opens
The hotel offers 157 of the city's largest guest rooms, most of which are over 700 square feet, plus 57 suites, including three penthouses. Even if you don't plan to spend much time in your room, opt for the impressive "Avenue" rooms or a Studio Suite, which features a connected living area.
Fifty-four hotel suites each have a separate bedroom and living room. Furnished kitchens in these apartments offer a full-sized refrigerator, stove and appliances by Miele. Setai also offers three striking penthouse suites, each one-of-a-kind. Finished in rosewood and white marble with gold veining and textiles in deeper browns and red accents, the 1,900-square-foot suites feature two bedrooms with the option to connect up to two connecting suites for a total of four bedrooms, three living rooms and four-and-a-half baths.

Dining options include Ai Fiori a new restaurant from acclaimed chef Michael White, focusing on the cuisine of the Riviera with a core focus on the Italian Mediterranean coast, drawing strong influence from the region's French cuisine as well as the Bar on Fifth, which features nightly live jazz entertainment and small bites dining options from 11 AM daily. Care for pampering? Try the Julien Farel Salon or Auriga Spa, both of which have become Capella signatures.
The spa is one of the hotel's highlights. Standing at nearly 12,000 square feet and occupying almost the entire fourth floor of the hotel, it boasts a massive relaxation lounge for both men and women featuring experiential showers, a Turkish hammam, whirlpool and comfortable lounge area equipped with snacks and drinks which change based on the current phase of the moon.
But the real cornerstone of The Setai (and any Capella hotel) is the service. From the check-in desk to the turndown crew, Capella employees are knowledgeable, friendly, and discreet, exactly what one would expect (but doesn't always receive) at a luxury hotel. Each guest is also assigned a Personal Assistant who will contact you several days before your visit and is on call 24/7 to make restaurant, spa and show reservations, secure transportation, and provide assistance with any necessary hotel or citywide requests.
The Setai Fifth Avenue is perhaps one of the city's most welcome new additions - and one that will only grow in popularity in the coming year.
Like it so much you want to stay ... forever? Setai offers residential options in the form of condos on the 24th through 60th floors of the building, featuring private entrances and elevators.
