My favorite holiday memory is the year we were so poor, we couldn't afford gifts. We must have been between 4-8 years old (me, my brothers, and sisters). Any-way we cut out the pictures of things we wanted from the old Best Christmas Catalog and wrapped them up and gave them to each other. We were still so happy as little kids. Man, I miss the simple life.....

Loved your story,I had a similar one as a kid. Life was much simpler then, and maybe even happier.

My all time fave memory is rather corny but back when my husband and I first started out we really devoted to creating our own traditions for our daughter and never had enough to buy gifts for each other...and this one year I really wanted to get him something so saved all year to get him an much desired amp for his car sound system ...well Christmas Eve I proudly pulled it out of its hiding spot...to my dismay he look sad once he opened it. Turns out he sold the rest of the system to afford a diamond tennis braclet for me...now two more children and a pending divorce in the works...i still fondly wear the braclet and remember the love we once shared

wow i cant belive that someone has done the same thing as us when we where kids . I'm one of five and one year we didnt have a tree, but the next year we had three trees left on our front porch and to this day we have no idea who gave them to us.
