Now at the age of 63, my fondest memory of Christmas was the one when knowing my parents couldn't afford much and hoping that Santa would bring me the one thing I really wanted...Indian Moccasins......And that morning there under the tree was the moccasins....only I had to make them myself. It was a kit with the leather, binding and beads.....I had just seen the Lone Ranger at our local auditorium and his Indian partner Jay Silverheels and fell in love with the shoes he was wearing. That was all I could think about!
It was probably one of the best Christmases I had ever had......but today watching my children and grandchildren at Christmas is making what will be the best memories of all!

my favorite memory is when my 5 children were small and they opened their stockings first and then had breakfast before they could open their gifts

My favorite memory is the time my cousin and I were snooping under the tree in the middle of the nite to see what was there and my dad (cop) thought we were being robbed. He scared the bajeebies out of us when he flicked on the light in the LR and we saw him standing there with his service weapon pointed at us. We still laugh like crazy about it....it was the Christmas Caper that never was, but I can tell you we never snooped ever again!!!

My favorite Christmas memory is of the first year our youngest daughter was able to go ut with us to cut down our tree. We were walking through the tree farm looking for the perfect one when she slipped into a huge tractor rut and broke through the ice into the muddy water. The surprised look on her face was priceless, until the tears came. My husband picked her up to carry her back to our truck and about 10 yards later she spotted the perfect tree. The tears stopped as my husband set her down. She was so exicted she forgot about how cold and wet she was as she got down on the ground to watch her Dad saw the base of that tree until it tumbled over. She was now set to walk - helping him drag the tree back toward the entrace of the farm to pay for it. "Helping" her Dad load it in the truck made her so proud. Once the tree was loaded and we were all inside, I stripped her down and wrapped her in a blanket for the ride home.

One of my fondest memory is when I went out and cut our own tree in the woods. When we put it up in the front room there was hardly any room to walk. Didn't look that big out in the woods!! Had to cut a lot of branches but it was the most beautiful charlie brown tree that you can imagine.

Nothing like the smell of pine!

I was raised by my grandmother in Southern Illinois. We were very poor and sometimes would only get fruit and a small amout of candy for Christmas, but I was very much loved. My best memories were the Christmas stories by the fire and the wonderful smell of our Christmas tree. I live in Florida now and it is difficult to find a tree that has that magical scent that would take me back to my childhood.
Merry Christmas everyone!

My favorite Christmas memory is also a tradition. Each year our entire family goes downtown to watch the Christmas parade. It's not a spectacular parade, but just having the whole family together is what makes it so special. After the parade we then all go somewhere for lunch together. I think I look forward to the parade more than Christmas day.

We haven't had a really christmas tree in our home for twenty plus years due to my sisters allergies to pine. But now that she's out on her own it would be nice to share the expience of a real tree with my children. The smell of the tree when you come home at Christmas time can't be beat!

My favorite holiday memories are when my children were little, waiting for them to wake up with excitement running down the stairs to see what santa has brought them. They were so filled with joy and excitement. Those memories will last in my heart forever.

My favourite holiday memory is waking up, cooking breakfast, and enjoying the entire day with my new family on our first holiday. Being the husband/dad now to my wife and 5 step-daughters to make that day special for all will always be favourite memory.

I have lots of golden memories of Christmas as a child. But I guess my favorite memory was when I thought I was going to have to spend Christmas alone. I didn't have money to go see my daughter and grandchildren, or presents or even a tree. They showed up Christmas Eve morning. It just wouldn't do NOT to have a tree. After all, Santa had to put the presents somewhere. So we went out to my garage and found an old tomato basket that you put over tomato plants in the garden and carried it in, and put 4 strings of lights on it and a few ornaments on it. Maybe with all of that you wouldnt be able to tell it wasn't an actual tree. They decided they had the smartest grandmother in the world that year, cause Santa left their presents under that makeshift tree. The pictures of that year are priceless.

My favorite Christmas memory is of my daughter when she was young. Her dad and I had purchased a bike for her. We wrapped it in one of those huge bags. She came down the stairs Christmas morning and squealed with glee, "I got a pony!"

Death to all plastic trees! Let's get back to the real thing. There is enough that is cheap plastic made in the Far East already. We have wonderful trees and we should make better use of our own natural resources.

My favorite Christmas memory would have to be the last Christmas before my mom passed away. She had suffered for many years with a spinal condition and had lost most of her mobility. She was able to come to my house that Christmas and watch my four children open their gifts. She was all about the grandchildren; they were her greatest treasures and it gave her so much pleasure to see them excited. Now I look at photos of that Christmas, her sitting there smiling, and I know she's still connected to us. She will be watching the kids this year too, I'm sure of it.
