Sally Hershberger Lists Her Beverly Hills Home

Celebrity hairstylist Sally Hershberger, the master of the shag hair cut, has once again listed her Beverly Hills home. The Real Estalker reports that in addition to her New York home, Hershberger also owns a modern home in Beverly Hills that is a sexy as her tousled hairstyles. The upgraded 1960s modern was on the market briefly in 2007 for $6.5 million but it's back on the MLS for $5.5 million. She picked up the three-bedroom home in 2004 for $2.4 million.
The home is a single story with a gated motor court and has a courtyard with a small pool. The main area of the home is wide open contemporary space with a minimalist fireplace and modern furniture. According to the listing the designer pad had its moment in the spotlight in House & Garden magazine. The listing also points out the sweeping city views and mentions that there are currently tenants in residence on the property.

It is sterilized. Nothingness

Exactly...it's too sterile. It may be a house, but it is definately not a home!

It's modern decor. That's what modern decor IS. Minimalist decor. Sparse. This home has a gorgeous view of L.A. It's clean and spacious.

this must be what they meant when you hear the saying "People who live in GLASS houses." I always thought it was a myth......

While I can appreciate the clean 60s architectural profile, I personally think it's a bit cold. All those white walls! The front door looks like a doctor's office and the living area looks like a college dorm gathering area. Best thing about the house is the great view. But...to each his own, eh? I'd like to live there, but I'd tart up the place with great art and personal touches...not to mention landscaping (nice little reflecting pool, though). But I guess the architect would have a coronary.

I would agree with that. Like you said, I can appreciate the architecture, but there's no soft look to it as though someone actually lives there. Perhaps she would fare better if she had the house staged before showing it? I love the pic of the horses in the dinning room behind the table, though! The views are breathtaking too! But whoever buys this house will have a clean, white slate to work their magic on since there is no color to any of the walls throughout the house. It's probably a very good deal!

Hey! Great idea for cleaning this place: just drag in the garden hose and blast through all those floors! Wheeeeeee!

You would think with all that money..someone would have had a better camera to take the photo's to post. Horrible pictures...of a very cold looking "home?"

WELL...THEY ALWAYS SAY THAT REALESTATE VALUE DEPENDS ON LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION...THIS IS VERY TRUE IN THIS CASE...5.5 MILLION??? YOU ARE BUYING A GREAT VIEW, A FAMOUS CITY NAME, AND ABOUT 100K IN MATERIALS!!! THE HOUSE IS SERILE, WEAK ARCHITECTURAL STYLE, OLD DATED 1950'S IDEAS, AND THE PLACE IS SMALL...THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO HAVE AN UPSCALE DENTAL OR PSYCHOLOGIST OFFICE, IN BEVERLY HILLS...BUT FOR A 5.5 MILLION DOLLAR HOME IT STINKS AND IT CRAWLS WITH MAGGOTS!!!!

Looks like the the commander's home in Galaxy Quest - could it be?
Tom Kelly Nov 5th 2010 1:28PM
Sunday, thanks for your comments. I agree right back! The "clean slate" idea is good...that place is just itching for personal touches and landscaping...and a vine or something on that white wall by the pool, outside the dining room. I could do that!
JLS Nov 6th 2010 12:52AM
I love lots of glass as well. Particularly when you have a billion dollar view of Los Angeles - with so many lights after dark. Romantic? Ohhhh yes. Love it all.

The view is great, although the house in tooooo bland. It has potential with a good face lift!
liguy Nov 6th 2010 10:39AM
The article does say it is currently tenant occupied, so that might explain the lack of decor. Also, the house is for sale and therefore may have purposely been de-personalized and neutralized for the market to show the architctural features. It's all about location too.
