Cat Scratcher That Doubles as Wall Art

Finally, a cat scratcher that looks nice -- and not just nice like a fancy cat scratcher but nice enough to pass as part of the decor when not in use. As an owner of two scratch-happy kitties myself I've spent many a frustrated shopping trip trying to find something to satisfies them without horrifying me and I think this could do it. The Itch Square Habitat for Cats is made of 100% bamboo with a carpet square in the center that's removable, replaceable, and of course customizable to fit in with your home's color and decor scheme. $50

Problem 1: Art is rarely placed one foot off the floor.
Problem 2: Cats can't really scratch stuff at human eye level.
Isn't there a way to spend $50 on a cat scratching post that cat can really use?

Buy an ironing board with cover and hang it in your laundry room. The cats loved the ironing board ......I hated it. I have had cats since I was a child (I'm 63) and none have clawed furniture.

See? Those are great ideas for the same or less money and I bet the cats would enjoy them a LOT more than those tiny squares..

My cats love the curly cat scratcher that is shaped like an ..S...I have scratchers in every room....If you really work on it your cats will use their scratchers....Some cats like to stretch way up ...others like to scratch down on the carpet.....a cardboard scratcher is good for them ....and the "alpine scratcher"...they will love....It is really a natural thing for them to do .I feel sorry for cats that have fussy owners that don't buy them anything...and they wonder why they have problems...If you have a cat that wants to scratch the ends of your couch....put the "alpine scratcher "there....rub some catnip on it....you will have no problem...Once they get used to the scratchers they will always use them....

My furniture is ruined because we have so many cats. They use the cat scratch pole AND the furniture. I only want 2 cats, but my Husband wants to keep all 6 of them, He doesn't clean up after them or even feed them. I have to do all of that. All he does is pet them and play with them. Life isn't fair.

Think it is to high priced, and for an apt you cannot put holes in the wall to hang it. For $50. you can buy a small cat tree.

For $50.00 you can build a cat tree to the ceiling with a couple of shelves and all carpeted. You can get your hardware store to cut the wood for you, staple the carpet to it and nail or screw the shelves to the 4x4 upright. Cost me slightly more than that for a knock-down portable unit for my Iguanas.

Not exactly decorative but my cats love car tires! Steven, I'm glad that you don't have cats too.
