La Maison du Chocolat to Host Free Chocolate Tasting Event in New York
On Wednesday, November 3rd, from 7:00 pm to midnight, La Maison du Chocolat, will host a special evening dedicated to pastry and chocolate at the chocolatier's 1018 Madison Avenue location.
Called "La Nuit du Gâteau" (Cake Night), the red carpet event will be open to the public and free of charge. Guests will enjoy complimentary tastings of a wide variety of desserts and pastries. The event, which will also feature live jazz music, will be held rain or shine under a tent along the sidewalk in front of the boutique.
The event will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of La Maison du Chocolat in New York.
Pastries will be the highlight of the event, including samples of its all-time classics to its latest creations, such as chocolate tarts, macarons, lemon pound cake and its delicious pistachio ice cream. There will also be sneak previews of many new creations such as the classic La Maison Mousse au Chocolat (to be introduced in the U.S. in 2011), the Salvador Cake, the delicious sTARTElette and the launch of the acclaimed La Maison du Chocolat eclairs in New York in celebration of the company's 20th anniversary. Gilles Marchal, La Maison du Chocolat's Master Pastry Chef, Chocolatier and Creative Director, will be attending the event.
Simultaneously, the two other La Maison du Chocolat boutiques in New York---at 30 Rockefeller Center and 63 Wall Street, will be open from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm offering tastings of desserts and chocolate pastries to all visitors.
La Maison du Chocolat, which was a Luxist Awards' nominee for Best Chocolate and Best Truffle is well-known for the excellence and subtle balance of its creations. The company sets itself apart from other chocolatiers in a number of ways, perhaps none more important than the incredible detail paid to the component parts of its chocolates. La Maison du Chocolat's team combs through plantations in South America and Africa; they study not only the cacao beans, but various vintages and the differences between them.
La Maison du Chocolat has locations in Hong Kong, London, Tokyo and Cannes, in addition to seven locations in Paris and three in New York. Its chocolates are also available at Neiman Marcus and from La Maison du Chocolat's online boutique.
