Hermes Wins the Luxist Awards' Editors' Choice Award for Best in Accessories

Hermès, the Paris-based fashion house known for its designs that evoke refined elegance, is the winner of the Luxist Awards' Editors' Choice Award for Best in Accessories.
What is better in life than receiving a gift presented in Hermès' iconic orange box with that lovely brown ribbon wrapped tightly around it? The only thing that is better than its signature packaging is the gorgeous Hermès handbag, wallet, watch, belt, scarf or tie that might happen to be hidden inside.
Hermès is the epitome of true luxury. Each and every one of its products are made extraordinarily well, with the best of design and highest of craftsmanship. The company, which has roots as a maker of equestrian equipment, carefully guards its brand. Hermès never discounts the prices of the merchandise offered at its boutiques and maintains strict control over its brand and image.
Hermès has fourteen different product divisions, including leather, scarves, ties, watches, menswear, womenwear, footwear and tableware. Most of its products are handcrafted and any product short of perfection never sees the light of day. Scarves and ties are hand-screened while the seams are painstakingly stitched by hand. There's a reason why scarves retail for $375 and ties for $180.
Handbags are blind-stamped with a letter for the production year as well as the identification number for the individual craftsman in France who spent days or perhaps weeks creating each one. Its best-known handbags, are of course, the sac à dépêches (later renamed the "Kelly" bag after Grace Kelly who carried one) and the Birkin bag (seen at top) which was named after model and actress Jane Birkin who helped design it. There are, of course, many more bags that are incredible in their design and construction, from the unique Lindy bag to the timeless Constance bag and the practical Trim bag.
Hermès has a devoted male customer base, to which it is now catering to with a flagship boutique it opened last February,The first men's store entirely dedicated to men's ready-to-wear, accessories and art of living is called Hermès Man. The boutique is located at 690 Madison Avenue in New York at East 62nd Street and stands directly across the street from the U.S. flagship store.
Ask any Hermès lover---and there are millions of them---how they feel about this brand. Their admiration and devotion will likely overwhelm you.
