Spend Halloween at The Surrey Hotel in New York

The gracious lobby of The Surrey Hotel, the boutique hotel in New York City.
This Halloween, travelers visiting New York City don't have to miss out on all the fun events surrounding the spooky holiday.

Families staying at The Surrey Hotel, the gorgeous boutique hotel on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, on Halloween will get to experience all the usual tricks and treats, with fun and festive offerings for both children and parents alike.

Upon checking in to The Surrey, guests will be greeted with a decadent treat of gourmet salted caramels. As the children get ready for a night of spooks and sweets, Moms are invited to escape to The Spa at The Surrey, the luxurious day spa (see video below), where they will receive a special Halloween offer of 20% off any 60-minute spa treatment. Feeling relaxed and refreshed, they will be ready to join their children for some good old-fashioned trick-or-treating, beginning in the hotel's lobby, where The Surrey's Bellmen and Front Desk staff will be giving out an array of delicious treats to guests and local trick-or-treaters throughout the evening. Pets are invited to join in on the fun too, where they can nosh on special doggie treats and mingle with Bentley, the hotel's adorably irresistible Havanese puppy.

Based on availability, the hotel offers a special package specifically for families. This fall, when a one-bedroom guest suite with a king bed is booked, the hotel will provide a complimentary connecting guest salon for children or a nanny. The package also comes with two complimentary tickets (children under the age of 12 are admitted free of charge) to the nearby Metropolitan Museum of Art and a copy of Shel Silverstein's classic children's book, The Giving Tree.

The Surrey Hotel features 190 well-appointed salons, including 30 one-bedroom suites, a Penthouse and a Presidential Suite, ranging from 350 to 2,127 square feet in size. The hotel is now the destination of choice for well-heeled visitors to New York, ranging from tourists and business travelers to those who are visiting relatives who live in the area.

The Surrey offers a complete luxury experience for hotel guests and Manhattanites alike. In addition to its beautiful day spa, there's also a world-class restaurant, Cafe Boulud (operated by celebrity chef, Daniel Boulud) which offers a contemporary approach to classic French cuisine. Boulud also operates Bar Pleiades, located on the lobby level of the Surrey, an Art Deco-inspired lounge that is quickly becoming the destination of choice for the residents of the Upper East Side.

The hotel's impressive art collection is also worth checking out. Curated by Lauren Rottet, the renowned interior and architectural designer who spearheaded The Surrey's recent renovation, it includes 31 original contemporary works by notable artists such as Chuck Close and Helen Amy Murray, dispersed throughout the private and public spaces. The collection pays homage to the hotel's impressive Upper East Side location just steps from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the other well-known institutions that make up Museum Mile.

For reservations, call (212) 288-3700. Mention the code "Family" for the special described earlier. Reservations can also be made on the hotel's website.
