Calvary Road, Estate of the Day

Concierge Auctions is back in Connecticut with the luxury real estate auction of 39 Cavalry Road, a lakefront estate on more than two acres in Weston, Connecticut. The auction is being conducted in cooperation with Listing Agent Patrice M. Schramm of Prudential Connecticut Realty and will sell absolute on November 5. It was previously listed for $2.975 million.
The five-bedroom home overlooks Crystal Lake. It has a kitchen, formal dining and living rooms and a finished first level that has a den, sauna, full bathroom, guest bedroom and exercise room. The backyard leads out to the lake and a private dock. A raised porch offers the opportunity to entertain, with direct access to the first level living area via sliding glass doors. The second-story spacious deck is big enough for large gatherings. The three-car garage has a bonus room above that is currently used as an office.
The 39 Cavalry Road auction will be held live, on-site at 11 a.m. EST on Friday, November 5. Attendance will be limited to registered bidders and their representatives. The property is available for preview daily from 1 to 4 p.m. and by appointment. For more information, visit www.WestonLuxuryAuction.com or call 866-605-7286.

White walls, white cupboards, white sinks, white carpeting. WHITE! Reminds me of a clinic. Actually, the clinics I've been in lately with my broken ankle and leg had more color. I do like white when it's paired with black or another noteworthy color but this is very medicinal. Can't do it.

This is a nice home, but come on, Estate of the Day?? You really couldn't find anything better?

I kind of like it primarily because it's understated yet looks to be well-built. The problem with the white and the "clinical" look is primarily because the furnishings used for the shoot are all white or neutral. With color added, it could look a lot more inviting. The house kind of reminds me of an Audi. Not flashy but not plain either. What I don't like is the lot. There's very little usable land since it sits on a steep knoll. The flat part of the lot is in the front where it's not really usable. Plus the mosquitoes and other bugs must be horrendous around that pond.
