A. Testoni Offers World's Most Expensive Men's Shoes

For the astronomical price of $38,000 per pair, Italian luxury leather goods label A. Testoni is now offering the world's most expensive men's dress shoes. Testoni, founded in Bologna in 1929 by Amedeo Testoni, painstakingly handcrafts the Moro monk-strap model in the world's finest exotic alligator skin using the techniques of Norvegese, or Norwegian construction, for durability and added water resistance. Stiched with custom-made linen twine, the shoes are lined with glove-soft goatskin and adorned with a rich but discreet gold and diamond buckle. To make the eye-poppingly elegant footwear Testoni also employs a second proprietary process, called the piuma rapid, which requires some 200 manual operations to complete. Each pair is made up, deconstructed, and then put back together again in a patented method that results in a shoe as light as a feather yet which guarantees protection from hot, cold and humid weather.

A 'discreet' diamond and gold buckle? The problem here is if it's too discrete, it's useless. Plus, on men the pants leg will usually cover it.
Also, $38,000? Those shoes had better be really comfortable. I can get a pretty decent car for that money.

The KNOCK-OFFS are already being made.... and a good one will probably be fine for most men. That is IF they want that look.

Now there's an idea, an italian sports car with a custom body shaped like a shoe, completely covered with alligator skin and a discreet diamond encrusted gold buckle. Probably could get one made for $38 million.

You must be joking-----------------maybe some Arabian oil sheik will buy shoes like this without a second thought---------but how does an American factory worker being paid $58,642 a year afford such a pair off shoes? Also, sewer workers can't use them in their work. Maybe the shoes \\can be eaten in bad economic times--------------suggestion: buy a pair of knock offs on the streets of New York

There are children starving in America.

No there are straving children here in the United States

Wow. $38,000 for a pair of shoes and people are still starving in the world. Nice.

$38,000.00 FOR A PAIR OF SHOES IS ASSININE.YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE MORE MONEY THAN BRAINS. BRAINS, WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSE?
Marcy Shamb Oct 17th 2010 3:04PM
For someone with brains, who has bad feet, and money to spend, I say better on a pair of shoes than fancy sports car, but then, its their money, they used their brains and hard work to make it and have a right to spend it on what they like. You can't wear a painting, but some go for millions... same with stamps, antique furnature, and a slew of other items. I say, enjoy if it suits the person and they can afford it.
When times are hard it would be nice if folks took the high road...and stopped being hateful and jelouse of anyone that has more. Someone that has more didn't make you have less.. Just because someone might buy a pair of those shoes has nothing to do with someone on the other side of the planet usually in an overpopulated underdeveloped area fro starving. And one doesn't get back on their feet by being hateful, jelouse, envious and wanting to drag gown to ones level those who are doing well... the way to do better is to persevere, work hard, do to the best of ones ability, and take responsibility, oneself and ones own community, for ones situation. Times stink...I am barely surviving, among the poor in the USA. I say, let everyone do and achieve the best they can...and stop being so nasty towards others.

&38,000 ,this money i can use to pay bills not buy shoes, who would buy shoes at that price&38,000 is out of their mind
Marcy Shamb Oct 17th 2010 2:59PM
I can only afford to buy my shoes at the salvation army...but, I have no problem or issue with the creation of this shoe. A lot of work went into it and I suppose too the gold in it is expensive... Keeping feet safe from cold, heat and humidity sounds good too... If someone earned their money honestly, than its no ones business how they spend it. No one is responsible for the overpopulated third world countries but the individuals themselves that keep breeding even while not having food to feed, nor means to raise the ones they already have.
I am so sick of the class war, socialist guilt trip dribble that shows or gives folks credit and allows them socially to hate and resent and deny anyone that has more than them.
Truly sickening. I say, for those who buy the shoes..enjoy.. you earned it...

Finally, someone with common sense. I couldn't agree more. I don't get why people want to punish success by making the successful people bear the burden of the poor masses. Low-income individuals want to keep popping out more kids and expect the government to raise them while lining their pockets with welfare money, now that's pretty disgusting.
Barb Oct 17th 2010 7:40PM
I am not against being rich either, and if someone earns it honestly then they can spend it how they wish. On the other hand I am against stupid and this is rediculous. It screams of the old childs tale of the emperor with no clothes. Come buy me and you get an ugly shoe with a little buckle and all who see you will be drooling to be in your shoes, not. A fool and his money are soon parted, and even if you have a lot, their are better ways to handle it.

Frankly, I'd expect better needlework for $38k...

I would expect you could climb Mt. Everest in these. How sad. What about the alligator Kevin
Joyce Oct 19th 2010 12:36AM
Never in a million years would I ever spend that kind of money on a pair of shoes, even if I were rich. Sorry, I just can't see it. Can you imagine what can be done with $38,000 dollars? I can not only get myself a decent pair of shoes with excellent comfort and design, but I could also get a car and help get someone off the streets and make their life just a little bit better. There are so many things I could do. Pay any debt I may have and put money on a house, a house people, not shoes!! How nuts can they be!

Does the dog shit you stepped in automatically disappear. Thats a' good shoe.
Joe Papierz Jr Oct 17th 2010 3:25PM
$38,000.00 for a pair of shoes is sinful. I couldn't have enough millions to spend that much for a pair of shoes. All shoes are comfortable if you pick the right size and wear them for awhile. No item of clothing is worth that much unless it is attached to the right woman who will devote her life to making me comfortable and happy for the rest of my life.
Michael Sanders Oct 17th 2010 3:25PM
You can buy a pair of Allen Edmonds, for not much over $350! It's the only American-made shoe, which Italy will allow into the country. I've owed two pairs in my life and there isn't any competition, as far as I'm concerned. My first pair lasted 25 years and were still in excellent shape, so I gave them away when they no longer fit. That's $14 per year and you will be a "sharp-dressed man." Or, you can spend $49 per year and always look like you have $49 shoes.
