Toni Braxton Files For Bankruptcy, Foreclosed House Sold
TMZ reported this morning that Toni Braxton has filed for bankruptcy again citing debts of $10 million and $50 million in unpaid debts with assets in the $1 million to $10 million range. Creditors include Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Internal Revenue Service and Neiman Marcus. She had previously filed bankruptcy in 1998. Earlier this year the IRS filed a lien against her for $396,000. One thing Toni won't have to worry about is her Nevada home, the one we checked out back in August. The six-time Grammy winner and her husband, Keirston"Keri" Lewis bought the home in Henderson, NV home in 2007 for $2.6 million. The home was listed as a foreclosure on Realtor.com for $1.15 million. Listing pictures show that the home has been completely cleaned out. The home in the Seven Hills area of Henderson Nevada has four bedrooms, a pool, three-car garage and views of the surrounding desert. Realtor.com shows that the home was sold on September 17 for $1.060 million.

Someone got a deal on this home for $1 million. Unlike the other home I saw advertised today on AOL in NY for almost $20MM, this home has character if you enjoy Spanish influence against the NY home that had absolutely no personality & asking TWENTY TIMES THE PRICE! Geographically, pricing shouldn't be that distorted & only tells a more detailed story of where the concentrated wealth in this country is centered. We live with entirely different perceptions/perspectives in America anymore & I'm not sure that's a positive as it used to be.

Please, please don't give this stupid woman any more money. Give it to me, I am quite sure I would be able to manage.
Great talent and beatiful girl but yes, I am sorry to say, she is such a loser.

Toni holds a BA degree from Bowie State University. She was a hit in vegas and became very ill.Her insurance company made her pay out of her pocket for the shows she could not cover.

Melanie...No ONE gave TONI Anything! She earned Her Money and was free to spend it as She desired. You are lazy and yelling for someone to GIVE you something, read your own post. Go Earn it like she did.
First, my heart goes out to Toni. Her young child has developed AUTISM...a variable developmental disorder that appears by age three and is characterized by impairment of the ability to form normal social relationships, by impairment of the ability to communicate with others, and by stereotyped behavior patterns. Will Smith's son has the same disease. So many many children are suffering and there is no CUREor identifiable CAUSE.
Second, TONI, about a year or more ago was diagnosed with MS none as Muliple Sclerosis...a demyelinating disease marked by patches of hardened tissue in the brain or the spinal cord and associated especially with partial or complete paralysis and jerking muscle tremor. She even has an attack doing her Vegas show. Insurance Companies do not pay for MS treatments, or hospitalizations. It is a life threatening and the patients end up immobile, speechless, mentally impaired and MS is incurable.
So, before U speak so pious, learn to have some compassion. If U noticed it mentioned the astronomical hospital bills, and they will only continue to mount, for her and child. My Prayers are with Toni and her FAMILY!

Melanie...No ONE gave TONI Anything! She earned Her Money and was free to spend it as She desired
The problem, MISSBURDINES, is that she DIDN'T EARN IT.... she spent money she had not earned and went into debt..... not once..... BUT TWICE!

To Melanie and all the other rock throwers... Let's try a little kindness. You do still have an ounce of this, don't you? Judge others and you'll be judged too. Maybe the world would like to see your perfect life and accounts?

Well, I have no problem feeling bad for someone who is going through bancruptcy no matter how much money they have made in their life. Listen, hard times can fall on anyone at any time. But one thing is for sure and I feel that this fact should be made clear: The reason that Toni's insuranmce company did not pay out on her claim for her heart illness while in Vegas is because when she first applied for the insurance coverage, she had to fill out an application. On that application are various health questions that she had to honestly answer. The one that asks "Have you been treated for any prior illnesses in the last 5 years (some ask for 10 yrs) you must answer it HONESTLY. Toni has been diagnosed and treated for heart problems in the past - she answered "no" to that question - knowingly withholding pertinent information about a prior illness. That automatically makes the policy null and void. Sorry to say, she tried to pull a fast one on the insurance company. That's why they refused to pay her any disability or medical claims! It's call cheating, folks. I can't feel bad for her in that respect.
Melanie Oct 7th 2010 3:56PM
Give me the money. I can promise I would never be without and I would pay my bills ahead of time or pay cash.
Loser!
JERRY Oct 8th 2010 3:50AM
Melanie you sound like a loser, nobody gives you money you either have to have talent, or get up off your lazy a** and go to work and earn it which she did, also you must have compassion and not be jealous of other people success which obviously you are get a job and get rid of the negativity, people can tell a lot about you from your comments.

I had no idea she put on so much weight and had a severe acne problem...
B. Hanks Oct 8th 2010 7:34AM
As you age, it takes work to stay thin. Maybe the stress and illness contributes to it. Maybe the medication she is taking for her illness is blowing her up. Anyway, your comment has nothing to do with her financial problems. Why do we have to make a comment on someone's problems. Remember the quote, "Therefore the Grace of God go I". Meaning it could have easily been one of us, maybe not to the same extent but the same problems on a lower scale.

The house in Las Vegas is a dump. It is in a average neighborhood. Cheaply built, it is a track home. Nothing custom about it. Notice the flooring is textured concrete. new owners will spend 300k to update it.
lynn Oct 8th 2010 12:20AM
Show us a picture of your house!!
David S. Oct 8th 2010 4:17AM
Get real, adesertkig -- this home is not to my taste at all, but it is hardly a cheaply built "track home." Likely Braxton spend a lot for it at the time. It obviously sits on a piece of secluded property --- that alone sets it apart. Yes, it likely needs upgrades, but those are probably cosmetic and to suit someone elese's personal preferences.
Tony Oct 8th 2010 12:58PM
Dude you wouldnt know Custom if it slapped you in the face and the house is not your avg home or in a avg area. Now all the Seemless Concrete on the main level I agree is pretty dumb and if one would have kept it too the Kitchen area it would have been much better but oh well. I would have gave 2M for it.
Don Oct 7th 2010 6:41PM
I did it once, shame on me. You let me do it again, shame on you.
