The grounds are nice which anyone can duplicate on acreage outside the city for a few grand letting time do the rest. The house itself is dated without any modern amenities that justify this outrageous price. I could duplicate this home for less than $2MM where I live with plenty to spare in my pocket. Celebrity homes are a dime a dozen now & Sinatra's name is a nice sidenote but it won't carry any weight in future yrs. when the sucker who bought it wants to unload it at a higher price. California with it's "ours is better than yours" mindset has just about ruined the real estate market everywhere..

Bobby

Comments on Is Frank Sinatra A Real Estate Draw?

Would be a shame to see it torn down, for the right price it should be sold to a buyer who would renovate it but keep the period feel. I read several years ago that a famous show biz couple (can't remember their names) bought Joan Crawford's former California home with all it's original art deco features and completely gutted and modernized it. Too bad, they had something unique and one of a kind.

liguy

Comments on Is Frank Sinatra A Real Estate Draw?

Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black are the ones who renovated the former Joan Crawford home in Brentwood. Sure the price is way out of line, but who determines the house isn't worthy of some personal remodelling without "updating"? Whims and fads are changing all the time, and theres a lot of charm in older homes that don't have the latest do-dahs. That should be up to a buyer, not a "seller"!

ajschrod

Comments on Is Frank Sinatra A Real Estate Draw?

Wonder if the furniture stays.

Barbara

Comments on Is Frank Sinatra A Real Estate Draw?

No diving board? Really?? This is a multi-million dollar property and the lack of a diving board and/or dated decor has absolutely nothing to do with its value. This property is over two acres of prime Beverly Glen real estate, where developers would never renovate a home like this. Unfortunately what you say about the"you owe it to me generation" is true, they buy, build and then travel without making a house a home.
Relators will grab it, tear it and if zoned correctly will place two home on the property and make out like bandits. MUCH nicer than the Palm Desert house! Probably built better than many of today's homes. And what's wrong with just a different paint color, to update the look. To tear it down and put up a mega-mansion is just conspicuous consumption. The grounds are spectacular. The asking price is right on in my opinion for the location and size of the lot 2.3 acres. I wonder if the artwork comes with??
