Is Frank Sinatra A Real Estate Draw?

Earlier this week, Curbed LA reported that 320 North Carolwood Drive in Los Angeles, the former seven-bedroom home belonging to Frank Sinatra has hit the market for $22.5 million. This is where Frank's daughter Nancy Sinatra grew up. Sinatra eventually divorced Nancy's mother, Nancy Barbato and moved out. The home is on around 2.3 acres of prime real estate. The interior pictures look a bit dated prompting Curbed LA to wonder if this older home is headed for a teardown. The home is on the market for the first time in 50 years.
This isn't the first Sinatra home we've seen take a spin on the MLS. Twin Palms, the original Palm Springs home of Frank Sinatra was listed in 2008 for $3.25 million and sold for $2.2 million in 2009. It looks like it can still be rented out. Still up for sale however is Villa Maggio, the home Sinatra built in the Palm Desert. That one started off at $4.995 million in 2008 but is now down to $4.4 million. The virtual tour for the seven-bedroom home is here.

2.3 acres in the MOST EXPENSIVE location in Southern California ... ENOUGH SAID. 22 mil is chump change for the person who will buy this house in an ALL CASH TRANSACTION. IT WILL be torn down and replaced with a 20,000 to 50,000 square foot mansion that is as tacky and overdone as any Las Vegas Casino. For all of the naysayers ... FOLKS, Homby Hills, home of the Spelling Atrocity, The Playboy Mansion, Abby Lane, The Chairman of Paramount, David Geffen, Marlo Thomas, and on and on ... as well as being the area where most So. Cal members of the Forbes Billionaires are. This is the neighborhood where Walt Disney and his widow lived to his and later her death, Bing Crosby was there, it was Barbara Sterisands former neighborhood. Again this is the MOST EXPENSIVE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NEIGHBORHOOD, It makes Beverly Hills, Malibu, and Bel Air seem "middle class". And yes, you can buy a home in Detroit that is bigger on more acreage for a few million ... SO WHAT ... You'd be in Beat up Aretha Frankins snow and depressed economy city. If you are rich you move to LA, NYC, or Boston. If you are REALLY SINFULLY RICH you move to Park Avenue or Homby Hills. (Even Nancy Reagan, Elizabeth Taylor, and so on live in much less expensive Bel Air, East Gate). 22.5 mil ... yeah its worth it. Will it sell for that? Who knows ... 15mil seems to cheap, 30 mil too high so 22.5 might be JUST RIGHT

you will never find a place for under 7 mil, thats this close to Sunset Blvd, yet still north of it on over 2 useable acres from the Ocean to well past Los Feliz (10 + miles east of HOMBY HILLS) THIS neighborhood makes Montecito (Oprahs Santa Barbara neighborhood) look middle class. 22+ mil is about right
