Lulu in NYC, Estate of the Day
Lulu de Kwiatkowski has a charmed life and some charming real estate. The lovely socialite turned designer and design book author and her partner Alfredo Gilardini have decided to stop being bicoastal and make a permanent move to Los Angeles. Their two-bedroom New York City co-op is an example of beautiful modern design. The apartment had its shelter magazine moment on the cover of Elle Decor magazine. The home has a large foyer with a bright nearly pixelated paint job and a living room with four large windows with tree top views. There are two cozy reading alcoves with built-in chaises and bookshelves. The eat-in kitchen is outfitted with custom cabinetry, Miele and Sub-zero appliances and a laundry area. The master bedroom and the second bedroom/library each have access through glass double doors to the large private terrace. The overall effect is cozy and welcoming; it's obviously a designer apartment but it also looks like a place you can set down a glass and a book without messing with the decor. The apartment is listed at $1.999 million.[via the Real Estalker]
