The Obamas "Winter White House" Sold

Although the President has been spending time on Martha's Vineyard recently he prefers another island in the winter. While Barack Obama loves his Hawaiian vacations, he might need a new place to stay this winter. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that the home on Kailua Beach where the Obama family stayed in December 2008 and 2009 has been sold. The home was bought by a Maryland company managed by a nephew of Hawaii real estate baron Harry Weinberg. The five-bedroom home was built in 2006 and was listed for $7.95 million. The listing agent Joel Cavasso, who is with Century 21 Kailua Beach Realty told the Star-Advertiser that the property sold for around $6.9 million. The buyers have never met the President and sales documents list the buyer as Paradise Point Estates LLC. Cassavo said that although the house has been sold the new owners are hoping that the President will still come visit.

well let's see, with the economy so bad and the Pres telling us to tighten our belts I guess I will vacation at home this year. Ah but the Pres---so far its Hawaii, martha's vineyard, florida, camp david, spain, new york and on and on and on. who is minding the country???

Don't cry for us America. While your retirement is losing value and pensions are disappearing we will find some even more extravagant place to take our next 11 vacations with 40 of our closest friends.

We also plan on taking many longer vacation after 2012.

It may interest you to know the Obamas were wealthy before he even became President. He can't be responsible because you wont take responsibility for your own life.

The Obamas went to school, educated themselves and are successful. They both earned money before they were in the White House and will after. They will not need the salary paid to every president (some quite a bit wealher) to buy a house.

If you want to be President or "rich" then go out, educate yourself, invest and sacrifice like most people do. Until then, quit blaming others for your misfortunes.

Lets see now. Go out, educate yourself, make something of yourself, build a business, work long hours, take some risk and IF your successfull the Obama administration will come knock'n. After all he did say it's all about spreading the wealth. Lets get to work, there's a lot of fellow Americans (and illegals too) that need some of the fruit from our labor. Oh yeah, don't forget to volunteer for something too (I recommend the RNC)

Sure they went to college and are educated, but since they never really held a job, believe Mrs Obama worked for a company that was getting government grants and Obama was basically a community orgainizer and was able to purchase the Chicago home they lived in with the help of their friend who was part of the Weathermen, I'm just wondering. I know of many lawyers who aren't wealthy, maybe these two are just lucky I guess.

The president makes $4oo,ooo a year, moron. BTW he didn't own the house, just vacationed there. Know your facts before you spout nonsense. President Obama was also independently wealthy because of the two books he wrote that became best sellers. What have you done with your worthless life?

Who gives a "rats patootie" where the Obamas stay on a vacation. With him being a SO CALLED born Hawaiian, I am sure someone who has a home there would be happy to rent it to them. Heck, now that Tom Selleck is back on a TV show, maybe Obama can rent his house as the show is not being filmed in Hawaii.

Remember: of two sides - both can't be right but they both can be wrong!

The lack of civility and manners in today's society is appalling! People are becoming more and more disrespectful and unkind towards those who think differently, have different religious beliefs, different political beliefs and feel it is okay to bash others because of it.

When a person or politician claims to be a Christian listen to see if their message is one of love, of giving, of sharing, or the message of getting and keeping.

Check to see if they ware working for peace or stirring up hate and strife. Are they helping the poor or getting rich?

Maybe they took all the dishware and silverware and some of the fixtures and that's why the house became devalued. Wouldn't be the first time for some celebrities. Maybe they couldn't get it deoderized - whio knows with the housing market these days.

President George W. Bush took way more vacations then President Obama does. That's a fact and you can look that up. President Obama has already passed 200 laws and has killed more high ranking terrorists is his first 18 months then Bush did in his last 4 years as President. That is also a fact. He worked very hard, went to law school and made a good living for himself long before he was even a Senator. I, myself am poor but I don't fault him for what he has. He and Michelle were both brought up very poor. They were raised with good values though and taught that they could acheive anything they wanted to. I so wish we would stop picking on him for all these STUPID things and stop trying to come up with distractons! Bush took 8 years to ruin this country and somehow you want him (just him) to turn it around overnight! He is very intelligent. I wish he would show a little more passion at times and just because he doesn't, doesn't mean he doesn't care. Bush had bravado, yes, but he was Dumb beyond belief and it was all phony. I will take a President who can put together an intelligent sentence and can reason things through over false bravo ans someone who just fakes his way through ANYDAY!!!
