Marimekko To Get A Shop Inside Crate and Barrel
Crate and Barrel has featured Marimekko designs for decades but the brands are taking their partnership to a new level with a new shop-in-shop dedicated to the Finnish apparel and interior design and textile house. The Marimekko shop-in-shop at the Crate and Barrel location in SoHo, New York will feature textiles, bed and bath, decor and some apparel. It will launch on October 14. According to a press release, Marimekko and Crate and Barrel are also exploring further opportunities for collaboration, including other shop-in-shops and ecommerce. The relationship between these two brands goes back to 1967, when Crate and Barrel presented the first Marimekko fabric collections, followed by a clothing line several years later. Marimekko is a Finnish textile and clothing design house founded in 1951. The cheerful patterns and colors of its printed fabrics have always given it a strong identity.
