Sultan of Brunei's Custom Ferrari F50 for Sale

The other day we told you about the Sultan of Brunei's incredible 7,000-strong, multi-billion dollar car collection, boasting among other things some 450 Ferraris. Apparently the collection has been reduced by at least one – the filthy rich ruler's custom 1996 Ferrari F50 has just been listed for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList. The price is undisclosed but we expect the rare auto, one of only two right hand drive factory-built F50's in existence, to be worth at least $1 million. Custom made for the Sultan, one of only 359 F50s ever produced, it has 5,000 miles on it. The F50's V12 engine kicks out 513 hp at 8,500 rpm with a torque of 470 nM. It does 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 202 mph. Don't worry too much about the Sultan losing one the prize pieces from his collection, however; according to reports he should still have two more F50s in the garage – not to mention the 600 Rolls-Royces....

I see last week about the man who traded up to a porsche. WOnder if the sheik would be interested in my Toyota Rav. Just think I would be giving up mileage and save him loads on insurance.

So why the sarcastic editorial, Mr. Jared Stern ? Are you so upset because you can't drive one, let alone afford a Ferrari ?

Americns have helped buy him all his expensive cars with the high price of oil. We need to get energy independence from the middle east and start tapping some of the vast oil we have under our Federal lands and other blocked areas. We have move oil under our soil than the middle east has ever had, yet the enviormentalist keep us from getting it. Sure, we need other forms of energy independence like wind, solar, bio fuels, etc. but we also have the adom and can do much with what we know about that form of power as well.

Why blame the U.S. we are not the only country in the world! do you think we buy all the oil out there NO we dont if we bought 0 amount of oil he would still have all of these cars and whatever else he has.

John, a couple of things:
- Brunei is not in the Middle East.
- Your claim that there is more oil in the USA than the Middle East is not true.
- It's spelled aTom.

450 ferraris ?!? 600 Rolls Royces ?!? Why ??? Surely he has cars costing more than some of his people earn in several lifetimes, yet he probably hasn`t even sat in them.

Has the Sultan fallen on hard times?
Joann Aug 1st 2010 4:12PM
A bit excessive. I can't even afford to fix the air conditioning in my truck and this guy has six thousand cars!!!!!! What a waste of money and resources!!!!
Jack Ford Aug 1st 2010 5:04PM
OK - I might be interested but I want it changed back to left hand drive and I
want that door on the left side fixed so it will close!

We should have roughed those dudes off for their oil fifty years ago. Back then we should have given them twenty or thirty camels and called it even.

Brunei is a small country located on an island near Indonesia. Where in the world can the Sultan drive his cars? No wonder this car has only 5000 milels on it!
Jack Aug 1st 2010 9:03PM
He aslo has a house here in Las Vegas that is listed for 28 million dollars

Having so may cars is another form of big di*k envy so prevelant in the Far East Asain/Indonesian area. ALL of these cars are his phallic symbol, and represent penis size envy.
Its just like the office working dork that drives a lifted custom 4x4 that wil never see any "real truck duty" Methinks the Sultan is compensating for his tiny member.
The car is nice as are all of them but 1-2 cars at a time for 1 person is more than enough but let the guy spend teh money ... it employs people in Europe
