Luxist Giveaway: Chocomize Gift Certificate

I've got a fun giveaway for you today. It's not just candy but candy that you create. We first mentioned Chocomize last December. The company specializes in custom chocolate treats. Pick a 3.5 ounce chocolate (dark, milk, or white, all premium Belgian) and then the fun begins. Go nuts (macadamia, hazelnuts, and almonds are just some of the selections), add fruits (pineapple, dried raspberries even goji berries), get creative with add-ins like pop rocks and mini marshmallows or really step into the extreme with selections like beef jerky and vegetarian bacon. Then you can decorate with fancy touches like edible gold, sprinkles or a chocolate plaque. There are thousands of variations possible.
The company also donates one percent of the proceeds from each Chocomize chocolate bar to one of their selected charities. In the Chocomize spirit you get to choose which charity to support. One percent has added up raising money for Doctors Without Borders, Action Against Hunger and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Today we are giving away one $75 gift certificate for custom chocolates. Create your own or chose from some of their popular flavors like the milk chocolate Smores bar with mini marshmallows and graham teddy bears; the white chocolate Tighty Whiteys with mini marshmallows, sliced almonds and coconut flakes; the Spicy Special milk chocolate bar with black peppercorns, mini chipotles and cayenne pepper; or the dark chocolate Tropical Island bar with banana chips, coconut flakes and cantaloupe melon dices.

At first I was lured into this article by the sweet visual of gourmet chocolate...I could practically taste the almond and oreo flavor! Reading further, I had an even sweeter visual..that of my Grandfather. He suffered from Parkinson's Disease before he died, so I commend the company for making a donation to these great causes including the Michael J. Fox Foundation -- my Grandfather had a penchant for chocolate...so that explains why maybe why I have one too! @LuxeTiffany

I'd like to participate in honor of my grandfather who LOVED chocolate and suffered from Parkinson's. I'd want the 1% to go to Michael J Fox Foundation. I'd create an everything chocolate bar in his honor....he'd be smiling.

I happen to think a milk chocolate with pop rocks would be sweet, delicious, but also have that pop. Great to hear about the 1% donation and thanks for the opportunity to win. I might have to go order one now anyway ...
Ryan Jul 26th 2010 12:11PM
Pop rocks?! Wow, that really would be something.
Helen Jul 26th 2010 12:14PM
What a great idea making your own chocolate bar!
Heather Jul 26th 2010 12:17PM
Yay! I would love some - sounds like a lot of fun. :) Not sure what I'd go for, but vegetarian bacon would probably have to join the party...

Who can turn down a giveaway like this? The thought of white chocolate with raspberry's, or cherries with an array of nuts. Or the idea of milk chocolate, marshmellow, peantnut butter, dried banana, with endless possiblities.
