A Real Housewife of New Jersey's Bankruptcy Auction
Teresa Giudice one of Bravo's Real Housewives of New Jersey is bankrupt and her furnishings are headed to the auction block on August 22. She and her husband, Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice owe $10.85 million in debt. The couple has filed for Chapter 7 meaning that their belongings will be liquidated. The items being auctioned were in the couple's foreclosed home and seen on the show. A.J. Willner Auctions is running the auction which includes a Schaefer & Sons Grand Piano, a Wolf stainless steel range, a six-foot Satsuma temple urn, plenty of ornate furniture including both a pool table and a poker table, a suit of armor, chandeliers and sconces, framed paintings and a Sea-Doo Bombardier jet boat. The word "faux" appears frequently in the descriptions of furniture and decor.
Those interested in buying will need to have a 25 percent deposit in cash or certified funds ready at the time of successful bid and full payment is due on August 23rd. In order to attend this auction, interested bidders are required to present a $300 refundable deposit at time of registration to serve as the required deposit until a bidder's balance exceeds a $1,200 threshold. At this point bidders will be asked to increase their deposit in order to satisfy the 25 percent requirement. There is no buyer's premium.

No, it doesn't happen to anyone. Of my 10 brothers and sisters and our parents, we've not experienced a single foreclosure in this economy crash (thank God). Not one of my friends has experienced such either. Not because we're silver-spooned or blue-blooded (I grew up lower-middle class in the "hood"), but because none of us were silly enough to dig ourselves more debt than we can afford. We have purchased homes wisely, and we furnish our homes in a budget...as opposed to spending ridiculous money on a "really big mirror."
While I pity Theresa's children, I feel no pity for she and her husband. Grown people do grown things....like balance their checkbooks and avoid petty debts that can place their families in jeopardy.

Welcome to the real world Teresa. You give Italians a bad name. The chickens have come home to roost. "Money knows no class".
You need a dose of reality. Joe seems to be a nice guy. It appears his business went south.

OMG... You are all TOO funny. Who cares if YOU like it. It wasn't in YOUR house. Whether it's true or not. Who wants to tell the world that they are filling bankruptcy, losing their house and all of their belongings
Thanks for the laughs.

I watched the episode on AOL last night when her husband was showing her the pizza parlor and apartment. He told her specifically the ideas he had for the apartment and she kept saying...."Right" followed with laughs each corner they turned. There comes a time when each one of us falls on our knees somewhere during this journey Life has us on....my time came and it was the best thing that could have happened...for me anyway. Priorities become very clear because all the stuff is no longer in the way. I hope she and her family will find the good that can come from this. The hurt will be devastating but the healing brings a richness money cannot buy.

Teresa and Joe ....just ignore the mean comments and pick yourselves up again! Everyone deserves a second chance, including you. But may I suggest Pottery Barn for the next house!?
clj7770 Jul 27th 2010 3:17PM
I saw that too. I she was like he is just joking. From the way I picked it up he was not. He saw this foreclosure coming before hand, but she was being naive and was chasing after Danielle crazy ass because she was right. Danielle may be crazy but she was right.
Gina Jul 26th 2010 11:53PM
Okay, the furniture is a bit over the top, but that Wolf Stainless Steel Range is to die for !!!!
jane Jul 27th 2010 12:12AM
There is NOTHING REAL about the RHONJ. Teresa and Joe are nothing but common criminals and shame on Bravo for promoting lying thieves. I love how Teresa keeps telling us how much "class" she has and how "nice" she is, didn't anyone tell her it's not NICE to steal. Geeze she even stole the title of her book "Skinny Girl" from Bethenny Frankel.
She is dumber than dirt! She tawlks from the gutter. There is nothing nice or classy
about this duo, they make the Soprano's look like a class act..
Poor Ms. Teresa will be lucky to live in one of those apartments or a used house after the government gets done with them. As it stands they may not qualify for Bankruptcy because they lied under oath, so they may end up not being able to just dump $11 million of debt on tax payers..
I hope they will be held accountable and have to work for years paying back every DIME they stole.
KikiCO Jul 27th 2010 12:02AM
Wow, talk about NO taste. She watched way too many episodes of the Sopranos and then shopped at the discount Guido store! This is some tacky cheap looking crap. Hilarious! And she's always trying to act like she's some high class b*tch with "good taste." haha. Spending money she doesn't have to buy things she can't afford. What a loser. Hey, Teresa, when you can't pay that's the same as STEALING you theiving scumbag!
Heath Jul 27th 2010 2:15AM
So will next seasons show be called, "The Real Housewives of the New Jersey Projects"?
Carly Jul 27th 2010 12:41AM
@Dem'sWantToOwn Everybody,
I never said having 4 kids was an excuse to live beyond their means. If you re-read my comment I said no one should be doing that. Also, I never said their kids need those things to be happy. I don't know where you're getting that from. I just think it's very traumatic for kids to see their parents going through this sort of thing. It's not their fault.
Hell MR.Nick Jul 27th 2010 12:35AM
"DEBORAH PODOLKA"....This will never happen to anyone that is smart enough to live within their means, and not put themselves almost $11Million in debt.
Emily Jul 27th 2010 12:32AM
who the hell has a suit of armour in their house????
