Brad & Angelina Reportedly Buy $40 Million Villa in Italy

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, whom as we noted earlier this year recently spent several months with their children in Venice, Italy (above) while Jolie filmed her new movie The Tourist, have reportedly just purchased a $40 million villa nearby in Verona. The massive Palladian-style estate in the hills of Valpolicella has about 18,000-sq.-ft. of luxury living space divided into 15 rooms with seven baths, Sky Italia reports. The couple supposedly bought the mansion after looking at two other less expensive properties in the area, one priced at $13 million and the other $10 million. "They wanted something more exclusive and in record time to spend the summer vacation in Italy," Alexander Proto of Alexander Proto Consulting, the Swiss property firm favored by celebs, is quoted as saying. In addition to immense size, the very private villa on landscaped grounds is equipped with a home cinema, gym, two swimming pools – one indoor and one outdoor, both with waterfalls – Jacuzzi tubs and acres of Carrara marble.

That money could go for something more useful. Like the poor.
Capwhan Jul 21st 2010 11:35PM
JACKIE H. When you say the poor do you mean you? It will be a long line if you want to wait for some of their money.
Lisa Jul 22nd 2010 5:31AM
oh Jackie shut up! Why is it that when someone has money and spend it on themselves they have people like you say something about giving it to charity? I am very well off and I have to hear the same thing when I buy myself something. Well guess what, I work hard, I earned it and I will do as I wish w/ MY money. I give an incredible abount to charity every year so shut the hell up about charity, most wealthy people that I know do!

I'd like to think Pitt has some sense; Angelina is just 'off'. Use that money on helping people, and, maybe, psychiactric help for her. Her own 'natural' children will need it, too.
BraceWinslow Jul 21st 2010 9:32PM
Do you think these super wealthey, Hollywood freaks think about all the taxes that Comrade Obama is going to wreak upon American taxpayers. Hell no! They say to Obama, stick it to those little people and we will always support you. Hey, Barack, come visit us in our new 40 million dollar villa......and bring that fat butt wife of yours.
Peggy Jul 21st 2010 9:33PM
It is their money.
They have given millions to charity.
ashleigh Jul 22nd 2010 2:13AM
yes, it's their money and they can do what they want with it, but their hypocrisy is hard to swallow... They complain about global warming and act like they're activists, yet they leave the biggest carbon footprint EVER with all their zillions of homes and estates, and all their jet-setting all over the world... And they get to, but they also need to either live as they speak, or shut the "f" up, because they are the biggest hypocrites who pollute this earth more than any other humans on this planet! They suck, but yes, it's their money, and they can do whatever they want with it, while continuing to enlarge their carbon footprint... They disgust me...
Kathy Dahl Jul 21st 2010 9:38PM
Wow! Are you kidding me? This is all I need to hear on $30,000 a year to live on!
Chaz Goodman Jul 21st 2010 9:41PM
Most of you need serious psychiotric help. The mean spirited crap that you post. It's like you know these people that you comment on. Do you know that this celebrity couple not only donate millions of dollars, but they also donate their time. Brad Pitt has a huge project in NO to build new homes. What have any of you done for anyone else? Now go take yoyr sorry asses, back to the couch, get your cheeseburgers and diet cokes, and stuff your fat jobless faces.

Re your comments, my husband and I worked 40 plus years. Make a good living, he was a engineer and I was in human resources. We saved in our 401k for the day we could retire. Unfortuantly, he died at age 61 (very young). I did very well for 7 years with the money we had saved, however, that does end. I am fortuante to have his pension and mine, plus soc sec. My point is, I really don't want to hear about people who can afford to buy a 40 million mansion. There are many hard working people out there that are not lazy and do work and if they don't it could be because jobs are hard to come by. I'm 67 and would love to be working again, however, there are many young people that need jobs right now and I feel they should be hired before me. You really ought to think before you speak.

Re Kathy, then don't read the article. P.S. I don't care about your problems I have my own.

And some people in this country go to bed hungry every night. Look at what some people do just to survive; being caught stealing milk and bread.. What is wrong with this picture?
deborah mullins Jul 21st 2010 10:25PM
Im sure you arent one of the people who steal bread and milk Yet you can afford a computer Why dont you stop judging people you dont even know these people donate millions to charity

How ticked off would you be if somebody told you how to spend your money? Seriously, how would you feel about somebody telling you what you should, or shouldn't buy? What would you personally tell that person, or persons? They've earned it, it's their money and they've one life to live. Seek help for your jealousy and focus on your own lives. Sounds like a fantastic villa, enjoy it Brad, Angelina and family.

Here's the deal: Brad and Angelina actually "work" for their money, and do not beg for others to provide for them.
That means, they are allowed to purchase whatever they want with their money.
To all you lib's...No one owes you anything.
Furthermore, the fact that Brad and Angelina have spent over a million dollars in New Orleans, and that there are nasty "gimme gimme" people on this board shows that they wasted their money providing for others.
MomOfFlightAttendant Jul 21st 2010 11:45PM
Why do you have to politicize this? Their compassion and generosity have nothing to do with liberalism or conservatism. It has to do with humanity, and that's neither left or right. Shame on you to suggest they wasted their resources in providing for others.
evelyn Jul 22nd 2010 4:06AM
Joe, You obviously are a man with a lot of hate, judgement and anger in your heart. I am as liberal as they come but not in the "gimme gimme" crowd, nor do I think our government should pay for every person who doesn't want to work's living expenses. Don't assume and don't stereotype others, you will always be wrong when you do.
I actually think the age when a child should be considered an adult and independent of their parents is 20 - when they are no longer a teenager. And I think that parents should legally have to provide for their children until they turn 20. That way, if a girl gets pregnant, it will be paid for by their parent's insurance - or not at all. Women have been having babies for centuries without technology. I don't think these able-bodied under-20 crowd should get any welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, WIC, food stamps, Section 8, practically free rent in subsidized housing, discounted day care either... they should be their parent's responsibility until they are no longer teens and then they should support themselves. To me, welfare should only be for emergencies,, not for drug addicts, alcoholics, people who don't want to work, people who breed indiscriminantly, people who want to work but dropped out of high school and can't get a job because of their poor decision-making, etc. The US Taxpayer would save billions of dollars if families were responsible for their family members and if welfare weren't a lifestyle. Making birth control free and curbing welfare abuse and waste would free up enough money to repay communist China our national debt. Make families responsible for themselves!!!
