on Waikiki Beach has announced "The Art
of the Cocktail" weekend which runs September 17 through September 19. The spirited summit will be staffed by some of the world's most celebrated mixologists including Dale DeGroff, Julie Reiner and Tony Abou-Ganim hosting gatherings and informational seminars. Guests can also take part in hands-on experiences to acquire expert techniques. The full schedule is after the jump.
It all begins with a kick-off cocktail party featuring mixologists showcasing their favorite cocktails with appetizers and the accompaniment of live jazz. On Saturday spend the day in seminars, discussions and classes hosted by a who's who of mixology. Mixologists Julie Reiner, Dale DeGroff, Tony Abou-Ganim and Simon Ford
discuss the evolution of the cocktail and where the industry is headed. Simon Ford presents a historical overview of gin while Julie Reiner showcases new and classic ways to enjoy it in cocktails. A seminar on tequila
is hosted by Dale DeGroff and Tony Abou-Ganim walking participants through a brief history and tasting of tequila while creating cocktails including the perfect margarita. A seminar titled Island to Island has Julie Reiner and Simon Ford preparing the most innovative cocktails while utilizing island influences from England to Hawaii. Stocking and Tending Your Home Bar features
Tony Abou-Ganim, the "Modern Mixologist" explaining what should be stocked in a bar, tools of the trade, and how to use them. After a long day of drinks, what else but more drinks? Saturday ends with the Cocktail Palooza. On Sunday wind down with a Bloody Mary brunch.
Advance reservations are required for all "The Art of the Cocktail" events
